Congrats on ditching the job  I say go childcare. Good rolemodels for our littl'uns are thin on the ground nowadays.

Since I have not found any new work yet, I decided that instead of sitting around the house !@#$%^& off and doing nothing, I should try to do some exercise and lose some weight.

I been walking between 2 - 3 miles everyday. I just got back from a 4 miler just now and I only been doing it less than 2 full weeks. Not bad for an aging overweight chain smoker who wears all back in the 80+ degree weather! Maybe I should join the marines so I can go to boot camp and show those !@#$%^& how we do it in Duluth! Can't break me down!

Sure, they got their cute little obstacle courses and running 100 miles two times a day, but could they do it carrying an extra 200 pounds the whole way? I think not, babay!

Join the Guardian Angels. You got the right attitude, the training will get you into shape and a patrol is 6 - 10 miles. Plus you have the pleasure of reducing the slime on your streets. ;)

I've been attacked 2 and a half times this last week from dumbass dogs while walking. One was loose and the other one simply broke the piece of string it had on as it's leash and the other was controlled 10 feet before it got to me. And they were all Heinz. I think I may have to start carrying small chunks of sirloin steak soaked overnight in antifreeze to keep them from attacking me anymore. Or anyone else for that matter, ever again. I really hate dogs so very much. They serve absolutely zero purpose and they are wild animals. That domesticated crap is a bunch of hogwash. That tiger that bit Roy Horn's head off was domesticated too.

If there has to be a government, there should be lobbyists for exporting all of our dogs to China and third world countries. We could raise them on farms and solve all the world's hunger problems as well as many in the USA that are dog related. Never again would vicious killer dogs rip human babies apart or travel in packs when they get together.

I am going to try to become a medical transcriptionist now so I can work from home. None of my other options have panned out yet, although I'm kind of semi-hopeful that I will get an interview for working at the casino as a slot technician.

Also, I had another run-in with another loser dog today while walking. It was some huge dog, all black and on a leash with an owner who was smaller than the freaking dog. It was growling and snarling and barking at me and making moves towards me and this broad was struggling to control it. And I was 20-30 feet away from them! I'm so tired of ignorant dog owners that can't control their animals so their problems become my problems. As of tomorrow, I'm carrying a claw hammer through my belt loop and a buck knife in my pocket. If one of these dirty filthy beasts comes for me, I'll let it have my weaker hand/arm for a bit so I can watch it die slowly and with a lot of pain as I take chunks out of it with my clawed hammer, Dr. Feelgood. After it's going through it's end of life death spasms while drowning in it's own blood and piss, I will then deal with the owner(s) and they will regret the first kiss their mother gave their father while they are learning basic human functions once again, like learning to walk and speak and tie their velcro shoes and drink from a sippy cup and perhaps how to maintain their new fashion accessory for the rest of their life, a nice brand new colostomy bag.

Yes, the dogs are really annoying, whether you walk, or ride a bicycle.
And those dog-lovers always say about their pit-bull or rothweiler: "The boy is so kind, he will never bite anyone, oh my cute," - and this is while the "boy" barks at the speech recipient and tries to bite off that man's leg.

Not to talk about free roaming dog packs, consisting of dogs thrown away by their masters.
And they (dog-lovers) say:"But we can not kill them, for it is fault of the humans that they are homeless,"-indeed, but I do not want to pay in MY blood for someone's fault.

If only it was permitted to carry and use handguns in Russia! (I'll even risk using my handgun on bad dogs, despite dog owners would have handguns too...)

Bad dogs, bad dogs! And they leave their organic mines everywhere, so that in the end of winter, when the snow melts... You know...

Maybe you should search for a work of homeless dogs exterminator. In any case, good luck.

North of Houston, my grandfather had a small herd of cattle. Packs of dogs that were not ownerless, but still allowed to roam free, would regularly chase and kill his calves. So when he saw them on the property, he would shoot them on sight.

I firmly believe that an animal's owner should be held directly and IMMEDIATELY responsible for anything their animals do. Especially people who make a pet out of a wild animal or one of those garbage dog breeds.

Recently over in London there has been a media hysteria whipped up over the danger of urban foxes.
Two babies where bitten by a fox that climbed into their cot and another boy was bitten when he pulled the tail of a sleeping fox.
Now people are calling for all urban foxes to be culled.

That's two fox attacks on people in about 200 years.
Bear in mind rabies has been eradicated for decades in the UK.
A fox is slightly larger and not much stronger than a cat.

Meanwhile people are acquireing fighting dogs as familly pets because they are a fashion accessory, a weapon, and a status symbol.
The result is hundreds of deaths and maimings of people and pets.

But no political will to commit money and resources to clean up the problem.

Yes, this is the just the beginning of the end. It will get much much worse. People are incredibly desensitized and so need more and more fantastical and shocking things to keep their interest, much like decadent Rome. Sometime, maybe not in our lifetime, people will be watching newborn babies being thrown into a pit of starving dogs to be ripped apart while on TV, just for the ratings. Maybe make a daytime game show out of it, seeing how long it takes before there's no trace of any tissue left in the pit. Groups of adolescent criminals will be led into the gladitor's coliseum to fight for their lives and freedom against wild lions so adults can place bets on the outcome. It's only a matter of time.

Still haven't found a decent job yet. I've signed up with the newspaper's job board a long time ago. All's I get from them is taking surveys from home, shop from home for companies, data entry from home and millions of possible interviews to get sucked back into the insurance industry. I wish Minnesota would hurry up and legalize dope so I could become a farmer for the state. My funds won't hold out forever.

Hang in there man - I got laid off in April after 9 years and I was a week short of getting an ISSM cert to manage classified systems ( man was I pissed about that - I know that caused at least one or two missed job offers ).

Found employment about a month & half ago - people aren't kidding when they talk about spending 6-8 hrs a day job hunting. Posted resumes all over the place, considered unusual employers such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, local governments, etc.

Ended up in a smaller manufacturing Co. with much better pay ( but benefits not so much ).

You'll be fine - just stay on the offensive :)

I applied for a job watching over mental health patients to make sure they don't hurt themselves or anyone else. The employer requires 3 years of previous mental health experience. I put down that I worked for United HealthCare Group as a health insurance claims processor in a big corporate office for 1.5 years and that it should count at least as double the time worked, if not quadruple, to meet the requirement of the job. I haven't heard back yet.

    *edit*
Unsurprisingly, I just got an interview today for a job I would really like and I got a gimp foot. I think Mr. Murphy sits on my shoulder.

Sadly, I got a job yesterday starting monday. I'm going to be a press operator that prints out hallmark greeting cards. The good part about it is that it's a physical job where you move around and not sit at a stupid computer all day at a business office, breathing in recycled burps and farts from the climate control. I want to work at it for a while and then get a promotion to writing the greeting cards that get mass printed. I would be excellent at it, check out my mad, visionary writing skills...

Roses are red, violets are blue
sugar is sweet, and !@#$ YOU!

Wrong number of beats in the last line:

    Roses are red.
    Violets are blue.
    Sugar is sweet,
    and so is ****ing you.

I'm sure Hallmark would use that in a greeting card.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW JOB!
