I have S1 as well, this may sound sacreligious but I can't see it as a CRPG.

S1 wouldn't be good as a CRPG because it is 97% traps...of the deadly variety. I admit it being one of my all-time favorite dungeon modules, however...

Q1 is the exact opposite, with ample opportunity to interact with others in a CRPG setting. But it would be a huge undertaking...especially if included in the GDQ 1-7 Supermodule I often dream of. It is far larger in scope than ToEE, spanning worlds and planes alike.

S1 might fit as part of a larger series of adventures in a quest for some artifact or other...it is, after all only one level large.

I can't see it as a CRPG either. I just mentioned it because it is one of the few original modules I have. It was fun to play though.

If i wasn't otherwise preoccupied by a squillion things, would love to make a puzzle dungeon. Not an instant kill one, but one where you have to work things out to advance.

There is a mod here somewhere, but you'll have to search for it. I think Dulcaoin made it...?

S1 is tomb of horrors i think
D1 2 and 3 are the drow ones

i think the progression is the temple of elemental evil , that was the t1...t4 modules
the the slave lords modules a1 through a4
then against the giants g1 through g3 then um
d1 to d3 the drow and q1 which is the spider queen.

In some campaigns, this was the order for sure. Not so in others. Much depended on what was available & when it became available. I ran two full campaigns in the WoG spanning 20 years & 2 generations of players. A lot of stuff never got played by many of the original crew 'cause it hadn't been written yet. Much of what had gone before never came up in the second campaign because it had been done already. But the history of the first campaign echoed in the deeds of the second campaign; and every once in a while, a personage from the first would make his presence known or put in a live guest appearance during the second. What fun it has been!
