It was "broke", but I get it that after a decade of text and links being the same colour that might somehow seem to be a good idea, but it really isn't.

I turned the brightness of the colour two shades lower now so it's even easier on the eyes.

Yep, too much contrast can be bad sometimes...
Still, white lines on black background is a default AutoCAD setting... Which I do not like...

As you may well see, red colour is the best here. And blue is the worst. Depends on the background, really.

    Hello

The problem is not really the color. The problem is that it should not be there at all. For the Forums, usernames, links to thread and forum menu etc.

If it is, its should be only there for the hyperlinks to sites ONLY in the posts.

At the moment EVERY possible link to everything is related, and it looks bad.

So the logical thing here is, when its not visited the link to be white, so it attracts attention, and when is already clicked to gray out. At the moment is the other way around. And like I already said, it should only effect the hyperlinks to sites in the post, not everything that is clickable. And I am pretty sure you can fix that from the Admin CP.

Here is example from my guild forum:
    http://www.destiny-mmo.net/viewforum.php?f=12

Hope you understand to what I am saying
    Thanks

Edit: just to clarify, for the fix if I remember correctly, you can do that by making both colors identical, and only for the links to have the two color option.

Exactly, this is true of red, too.

Everybody please take a deep breath - nothing is ever automatic when changes are made. A lot of improvements/upgrades have already been put in place that you may not even be aware of yet.

Your input is welcome, but it would be nice if you could refrain from unnecessarily severe or accusatory tones when you give it ("This is the worst idea in the history of mankind!" etc.). I'm confident that you'll most all be satisfied when all is said and done. :)

Oh my god, that's awful... the colours on your site, they burn my eyes!!!

Why the hell do you use red on black, change it.

The fonts are too small, that looks like crap and it's hard to read.

You've got a bunch of different colours on usernames, I'm confused.

Grey text on grey background on forumhome, ugh!!

(For the record, this was just my illustration of the kind of feedback that's really pretty useless.)

Personally I don't see any pressing need to have it set up according to your own preferences that you listed. It's a possibility, but it's not default behaviour so it's all down to every admin's personal preference. The fact that you have it set like that on your own forums doesn't mean that everyone else should follow suit. I for instance find indication of whether I've visited someone's profile already or not quite useful. The same goes for forums and threads - it's an odd idea to forcibly remove the indicator of whether you've been to a forum or thread before at a glance. I'm sure it's something that you can get used to, but it's kinda like saying "I like this broken leg of mine just fine, so you can take your hospital and shove it!".

Which, of course, you're quite free to do, but expecting the whole world (except any happy cripples) to agree with that viewpoint is a tad illusionary.

A bit more trust in the fact that I've been around for a while and know what I'm doing wouldn't hurt. Give the changes a bit of time to set in and try to understand that they were made for a reason, not on a whim.

I think the addition of color is beneficial, in spite of the usual "Oh my gosh! Things are different!" response. If there is a better way, I'm sure it will be slowly discovered.

Also, I am under the impression that some of the hyperbolic language was meant in jest. For example, I don't really believe the NECESSARY pastel colors represent "alternative sexual orientation" choices. Or if they do, who cares?

So, I humbly apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings or contributed to an atmosphere of turmoil. :(

So the problem is what happens when you clear your cache and cookies. Or when you browse from work or office and so on. It does not look unified half the forum in one-color, the other in second. I much prefer how it was before.
And also I do not know how else to put the feedback then say what I think. I am not demanding anything I am just stating my opinion you can take or leave it. Also I don't think anyone posting here has a mean intentions with their post, as the community of this forum is a small but great bunch of guys, so I think its more then ok to post a bit more freely.
So I don't really need to know if I visited page 2 of a thread, or clicked on a name, or visited StumbleUpon, or reported post 22 for bad Joke. :)

    I like the blue effects.

Actually it won't matter from where you visit now because during the upgrade I set it to keep records of viewed threads in the database now. So the look will be unified anywhere you access Co8. And it'll also be much more accurate than cookie-stored sessions, which can crap out for any number of reasons and are generally unreliable.

And sure, feedback's fine, I just happen to disagree with you regarding the links because my preferences don't match yours. Every now and then something comes up which can only be set one way and compromise isn't possible unfortunately.
