    There is also a significant difference in power between the "Cause Fear" (1st level spell - learnable from 1st or 2nd level) and the "Fear" spell (4th level spell learnable from 7th to 8th level). The latter is far harder to resist and can affect far more targets than the former.

    OK thanks -- but I meant that it appears that there is a slip-up in that
    - "fear" is listed as a Wiz/Sorc Level 2 spell (and Bard too, I think)
    - yet "fear" can be found not in the list of level 2 spells, but level 4 spells, and it was at this level which my wiz (who CAN cast level 4 spells) learned it
