Is there a level minimum for all these extra enhancements(except for +1 to +3)? My wizard is level 6 and I can't get her to add any enhancements
Well, there are requirements like having, ummmm, 'shocking grasp' for shock weapons etc. So if you don't know the spells you don't get to make the gear.
Well thats strange...cuz I'm sure I have the spells. At least I definitely have shocking grasp...but I can't seem to add any enhancements except for the regular +1, 2, 3
There was a request for the exact requirements for crafting gear to be posted, either here or at Atari - do a thread search and you are bound to turn something up
Epic Level Handbook: Except when otherwise stated, epic magic weapons follow the rules for nonepic magic weapons. There is no limit to an epic magic weapon’s enhancement bonus, to the market price modifier of an epic magic weapon special ability, or to the total of an epic magic weapon’s enhancement bonus and market price modifier.
I'm almost positive you have to be level 7 to add shock. All the enhancements have some level requirement. For most (all?) of the burst effects and for holy, it's 10.

Well, this can't be entirely right, because you can do flaming burst at level 10, though this file says it's level 12 (which is what it's supposed to be in 3.5 pnp). Also, this seems to say you can do holy at level 7, but for me it's always been level 10 (you get the requisite spell, holy smite, at level 9, but can't craft holy things for another level yet). I'm running just patch 2 and temple.zip.
maybe it was fixed in the co8 patch, then (not too sure about that) but that is what is listed in my item_creation.mes, yours must be different.
Well, my .mes is certainly different. No mention of level requirements or anything at all like the excerpt from above anywhere. Makes sense that they would at least change flaming burst back to 12, since that's where it's supposed to be, and with the level cap removed now you can actually get there. Maybe, in the original release, since holy is even better than the bursts (with the possible exception of the cleavers), they just thought it should wait until level 10 too.
