Raaagh, could you post your progress regarding spawning creatures and spawn points in general. Some details on the commands and adjusting parameters would be nice.
Well, I dunno if it's here in the thread, but when you craft an armor with spell resistance (13) it shows up as spell resistance (0) and I heard this was a known bug (on the Atari forums) and my assumption is that you do not have any spell resistance despite the enchantment. In the spirit of silly, petty stuff (meaning typos), the incandescent blue ioun stone is spelled "incadescent" and the radial menu for crafting as well as the actual crafting screen have "wondrous" (as in "craft wondrous item") misspelled as "wonderous."
Adding SR via Craft Arms and Armor is indeed broken and is in the buglist. No SR roll is made at all. As for your requests in the other thread: If I'm not mistaken the Craft Ring feat requires a level higher than 10. Crafting the Vorpal enchantment also requires a level higher than 10. In a sequel with higher levels, it is certainly possible though. Higher levels and a bigger world are really requests that should be addressed to Troika. Unless we have dedicated teams of modders with user friendly toolsets released by the devs themselves, it's probably impossible for fans to make anything even close to achieving this.
There's quite a few people who created dev tools for the Baldur's Gate series of games. Surel some of them play ToEE and would be able to write up some dev tools for the community. (I'm naieve and a born opptimist)
Please hurry. And I mean that in the nicest, most non-ungrateful way possible! My game is screwy, even with the official patch, and I would love to play this game with the fixes you've posted in this thread. Any time-frame estimates? Again, I am completely grateful to you guys for putting your free time into this; I don't mean to sound like I'm demanding anything, but I'd love to see this patch.
I didn't notice this on any of the first pagel lists... My Half-Orc Barbarian is getting bonuses from the +1 arrows he has equipped even though he's attacking with a melee weapon.
Ray of Enfeeblement: Strength damage applies after the round it was cast. I had a fight with an ogre , it was last in the initiative order and had 5 strength bonus to hit. My sorcerer hit him with a RoE spell dealing 5 str damage. In that round the ogre had the 5 str bonus to hit and only in the next round went down to 2. I think the spell’s effect should be instant. Protection from evil lasts 10x longer (10 min/lvl). (troika + co8 patches installed)
I'm unsure why attacks so often from all characters and foes considering, at least on my side, that everyone has 14+ DEX and at least a +6 attack bonus and highish (17-20) AC. My 18 STR masterwork spike chain-wielding weapon focused fighter hits foes like bugbears about 60% of the time while my Wizard (+6 attack bonus) has hit maybe thrice with his masterwork light crossbow. Likewise, foes rarely hit me, but when they do it's often barely (1HP) or quite hard (38 HP- a 1-hit kill.) -EE
NPC Looting and Items Clarification please Hello all. I am taking the following quote from the description of the Co8 patch description: 1.1.0 - Second Release "NPC's demand an equal share of gold and no more, despite what their dialog will say. Furthermore, you can exchange equipment with them as well. They will not give up their money, though." Under the "Changes included in 2.0.0" description it says.. "Looting Fix removed (NPC looting fixed in patch)" Am I to understand that this COMPLETELY removes the fix described under 1.1.0 or only some part of it? I have installed the official 1.0 patch along with the Co8 2.0.0 patch and my NPCs are jammed with items. They won't sell(barter), drop or exchange their items(with other PCs or NPCs). Thanks.
SO MANY BUGS I just recently got ToEE, and wasn't aware of how many bugs it had until I started getting them regularly. I have already used both official patches, but the damn glitches just keep on comin! The most recent one I have encountered, that I haven't been able to find some way around, has to do with what happens after a character dies. When my Cleric dies, if I click the little red icon to dismiss him from my party, none of my characters can initiate a transition to another map, nor can they even talk to npcs. This is a pain in the ass for me because I want to boot somebody from my party, so I can import a new character. Has anybody run into a similar problem? Is this a confirmed bug? I know I should probably do a bit more reading on this subject, but you will forgive me if i don't feel like reading the whole book on ToEE bugs. Over at atari, 90% of their ToEE forum boards is covered with "HELP! ANOTHER BUG!"
I see alot of posts about unfixed bugs. And honestly I've seen a few myself. But overall its a great game with a great engine and if you look at the big picture it does pretty good. I'm currently using the official atari patch 2 and c08 v3.0.2 and so far its been a smooth game. Just my .02 cp.
Ummmm, I don't believe you CAN import a new character. If you dismiss your Cleric, s/he is gone for good, and you don't get any new ones.
You can import a newly created char(mebbe even the one you dismiss), but they'll start out at L1 with their basic equipment, IIRC.
They'll start at lvl 1 with NO equipment. The game assumes that if you import new characters you'll want to buy them specific equipment (or can afford to). Starting equipment is only given to the initial characters. This also prevents munchkins from creating a group, then adding/removing characters to get 100 longswords to sell for cash.
Ah, so... Thanks for clarifying my clarification, hehe. The only time I've tried to add a pc after party creation was an attempt at a sixth pc-didn't work, of course, so I never got to see his equipment. Anybody happen to know whether you can import a pc that's been dismissed previously? I might check that out this weekend....
