I've found these images...can somebody tell me why these screenshots look so different?
I see unavailable portraits (as well as three slots in them), a different action bar, and the options are different tooo...are these pics from a beta version or something like that?

Check what it seems to be the axe of the dwarf!



...or the door icons.

 

They simply changed the interface in the final version. Don't
ask me why did they leave out some portraits though.

 

I suppose that the slots to the right of the portraits are for conditions (buffs and that)...maybe weapons combos? That would be great...
The bottom bar for options looks better, IMO, it has a resemblance to vitraux, which suits better the whole "temple" design.

Well, at least we can restore the fire effect of the axe, which looks way more cool...as well as making all the other elemental effects

 

Where did you get these shots?

The two scenes don't seem to be in the final version of the game. The balor is not in a pool of water, and there were no gargoyles in the the broken tower. Were they something in a demo verson of the game?

 

I suppose, i don't have the slightlest clue

I've found those pics roaming the net...i don't remember where (what i do in these cases, it's to make a google search with the pic's name, which i didn't changed)

Btw, they have game ready portrait packs! That's an organized forum
(they mention Co8, btw)

 

I went to their site, but can't seem to view their portrait pack. Maybe someone could give them ours in trade for theirs. Je ne parlais pas francais.

They have three .zip packs: one explains how to change portraits manually, the other two are automatic pack, supposedly you can download, unzip and be done, but i didn't recomend that since they could work only for the french version.
And, there you can download each portrait you see, individually, this means, for replacement. I've checked them, and they're game-ready, you just need to copy which one you want in the portrait folder, and name them correctly.

I don't know about team up...the forum isn't available anymore, and the latest new it's from 2004 :errf:

In any case, go to "ressources" and then go to "telechargement" (downloads):

-Correctif have two features: Flèches de Cupidon a .zip that fixes "cupids arrows" (damned if i know what's that.../ Edit: i'm an idiot, it's the quest :roll: ), and Le forgeron d'Hommlet, another fix to get masterwork weapons in hommlet, it's a translation from a Co8 patch.
-Patch features: De la VO vers la VF which it's a dialogue translation to french, and Acheter des armes QS- Apprendre les Sorts profanes, a non working (old) link to Co8 to get masterwork weapons and all spells.
-Divers features: Editeur de personnages VO a charcter editor pour french version (it uses a hex editor,i don't know if it will work for english), and Carte de la région (map of the region) a beatiful detailed world map (can we have one of those for KotB?)

Nothing useful, it's really a very old site... they must be very active in their moment, at the same time that the early Co8.

still, the portraits and pics are nice.

 

Do you think these french types would mind if we set up a way to use their portrait pack here in Co8 land?

You can always download their pack or individual portraits, thath's for they're there. :shrug:
I think that place it's been dead for a long time.

But you shouldn't worry about a portrait pack...there will be good news about that pretty soon here at Co8
