    I'm the one who posted about the updated downloadable version.

    I can confirm that my newly downloaded one does indeed have a temple.dll, so that's useful.

    Ach! I jes don' get it!

    This is not working! At the point ov making it to level 11, my xpts freeze. Any suggestions?

    Still not working

    I have TOEE patched to 2.0 and also script 011 version, but it gives byte mismatch error

    and then quits

    Could someone post a solution or succesfully patched TEMPLE.DLL
    BTW wouldnt it be easier to share the edited temple.dll rather than script (less hassle)?

    Hmm... looks like you've got a different temple.dll than the level uncapper expects. Is your temple.dll 3440640 bytes?

    I've got a patched version at http://www.jadri.com/temple.zip, that also has a couple other minor fixes installed. Probably no new bugs, not sure - hasn't really been tested extensively. I'm not sure it'll work for you, if you've got a different temple.dll. Theoretically, as long as the exported functions are the same, everything should work fine, but... I don't know.

    Thanks a lot, will try that one instead.

    And yes my Temple.dll is that size cause you only can get that dll from patch 2 (AFAIK).

    Oh, oh...and more knolls...

    I like the extras you put into your improved patch! But I gotta ask why my new 1st level wizard gets 511 magic missiles now? It is kinda nice, but maybe you could check into this for game balance purposes...



    (With that new mage in the group, this ol' dwarf's ax is growing a bit tired of wiping the cobwebs off his axe...)

    It shouldn't be 511 - I recoded the max_Targets handler so that I could give it more complex formulas - the -511 means that it should give you one missiles per 2 levels up to a maximum of 5.

    All I can say is that the wizard on my right is hitting multiple targets with magic missiles that seem to be endless. That first level mage is kicking butt & this ol' dwarf gets stuck with the toe-taggin'...sheesh!

    Hmm... works fine on my end... could you post a copy of your data/rules/spells/288 - Magic Missile.txt? I mean, I can get 511 magic missiles, if I set max_Targets to 511, but it should be set to -511, which gives me one magic missile at level one.

    After installing Co8 mod pack 3.0.4 BETA, I tried casting Magic Missile with my level 10 Sorc. Got 5 missiles. Seems Ok. Cast both on friend and foe. No problems.

    Recruited a level 1 Wiz from the tavern and casted Magic Missile. Got 1 missile. Tested a few more times just to be sure. No problems encountered.

    Is this an NPC Wiz or a PC Wiz? Have you installed any other 3rd party mods apart from Co8? Do post a copy of your Magic Missile.txt as moebius has stated.

    Whatever I change the -511 into is the amount of missiles I get.
    I have the latest patches installed plus devhelper, NPCLvlup, and of course, the Lvl20+extras.
    Everything has been removed & re-installed more times than I care to think about.
    Maybe there is a simple solution, (my intelligence is about as low as my charisma) but, any help here would go a long way to make this ol' dwarf feel a mite more usefull in battle!

    Umm... if you've got time, could you use the devhelper module to levelup your wizard or sorcerer and get the Scorching Ray spell? It's got a similar type of maxTarget, and I'm curious if the number of targets it lets you choose is also broken.

    I'll investigate some more on my end as well.

    I need to ask, since I just did the really obvious thing and reinstalled the original temple.dll and ended up with the max of -511, are you sure you've installed temple.dll, and are you sure you've got a version of ToEE that uses temple.dll?

    (Err, just to check are you getting -511 magic missiles or 511 magic missiles when the maxTarget is set to -511?)

    Two thing you can check fairly easily to see if the other changes in temple.dll went in:

    o Create a Halfling character. Check to see if you're getting a +4 modifier to hide.
    o Directly after starting up ToEE, create a character with 12 strength. See if you can choose Power Attack as a feat.

    (I swear, I'm getting more and more confused as this goes on.)

    I am a bit confused too...

    Well, I started a new wizard, used the development helper to get to level 12 quick. everything worked correctly. 5 magic missiles. But... when I went to the sign in book at the inn to add to my party, I added 7 characters and the game crashed. Reloading the last save brought the same result, several times.
    So...
    I have re-installed everything, again, & I am starting over with the same characters minus one. (Adventuring party of 7 this time.)
    I will alternate between NPC's for the 8th party member.
    I plan to play for several hours tomorrow. (Sunday, Oct. 10th)
    I will post here as soon as anything weird takes place.

    Dwarf's scouting report...

    I have been through most of temple lvl 1 & started lvl 2 and my highest chacter is lvl 9.

    Crashes:
    Attempting to use the register at either inn.
    During drinking contest. (Removing NPC got me through it.{Meleny})
    Entering the main temple area. (Removed NPC & got through it. {Riana})
    Getting Prince Thrommel Killed. (Once he died in battle, he was still highlighted & I could not get any functional control except to move the view around the area.)

    Oddities:
    Half the party walks through locked doors. (New phasing feat?)
    Can't find 'Craft Ring' on radial menu.

    Game Freeze:
    In main battles, I.E. the inn in Nulb, the tavern in Nulb, brigands tower, guards in west hall of temple lvl 2, salamanders in fire temple, etc...
    It has something to do with Fragarath & Scather because the freeze occured right after an attack of opportunity with one or the other of these two weapons. Re-loading the game & un-equipping both solved this.

    Keep yer ax sharp till next time...
