It's simple. After playing a game to completion a few or several times without using any cheats, cheating and finding new ways to cheat is fun!..

What Spike's trying to say in his gentle sort of way is "don't be an ass." We sort of pride ourselves here at Co8 by the fact that not many people act like an ass, at least not as much as in most other forums. When you said "so don't cry this way" you were being an ass, as VS was clearly not 'crying,' only commenting.

And before you point the finger at Virtual SpACEman's tone, let me remind you that he is a contributing modder who has established himself in the community, while you are a "Goblin Raider" upstart. Please show some respect.

Okay, I understand. But in some way you say "let's kill the n00b" lol
In fact I already said that I always finish a game before exploring the cheat system. I've done that since my beginning on RPG with Ultima 7 then Serpent Isle Ultima 8, D&D Dark Sun, continuing with BG1, IWD1, BG2, ToB, IWD2 and finally ToEE ^^
Playing a game normally is fun but playing with cheat consoles make you see every possibility of a game as Krunch said. I never intended to be disrespectful with anyone but I just give an answer equal to the things I'm told. Be cool and I'm cool, piss me off and i won't be cool anymore lol
Anyway, I've been a huge fan of D&D / AD&D RPGs for 18 years IRL or on CPU and this is why I'm here. Look at my post I just wanted to add a trick that would be completely possible without cheat console.
Let's finish this misunderstanding, I beg pardon to the boarders that i could have come across ^^

We have something in common, then.

It's rather easy for things like this to happen given that it's typing and not actual people communicating face to face. Tone, inflection, & facial expressions are lacking, and words are far more likely to inflame. What's more, there's also a language barrier...while it's typed in English here, this may not be everyone's first language, and things get lost in the translation, so to speak. I'll guarantee your English is better than my French, though.

Meh, I think enough's been said about this.

Perhaps ONE more thing Lord Spike,

Thanks, again, for clearing up the inflection differential :) And thanks for being cool about it all and not a donkey- we definitely don't need any persons catering to asinine behavior around. And it's good to diffuse a misunderstanding soon, thank you S.I. for being grown up about it!

Personally, I always cheat a little in RPG games. I only play AD&D-derived ones, and I find that most of the time they're heavily slanted against magic-users(eg:- Neverwinter Nights) so that, in order to play a proper game, you have to waste hours taking your group after every single fight to the nearest resting-place to recover. It makes more sense to me to have an extremely challenging game with a brilliant AI, and have PCs with maximum stats fighting monsters with maximum stats, with only very infrequent resting. That way the game relies more on good gameplay than on constant resting and returning to fight reduced numbers(which is not logical, as one should expect monster-encounters to actually increase in anticipation once the party visits the place the first time).

To take one example, before I used the Co8 possibilities, I found that the only way to get through the elemental planes with my initial 5 character-party(normally-rolled stats), without constant resting etc. was to use uber-powered NPCs like Thrommel, Otis and Scorrp, which then made it far too easy. I prefer a more balanced game.

Well, if you use spells a lot, you're going to need to rest more often. While blowing up a bunch of goblins with a fireball is fun, it's better to save the spell and let your fighters rip them apart in melee. Using things like wands, scrolls and potions help, too.

I can generally make it through each individual Elemental Node without needing to rest in the middle of them without much of a problem.

uhm - As far as "so-called" cheating goes, a 1st-level wizard with a 24 Intelligence and 24 wisdom helps a party of adventures, temendously, with respect to the number of spells available, and as well, starting a new game with level 3 characters before doing anything also helps more than you would normally expect or think, too!..
