How do I write that in the colsole (syntax) ? I've tried "set game.global_flags[148]=0", but my intuition says that this probably isn't the syntax you've meant.

    Okay, thanks.

By the way, I noticed a few things while looking into the 00143paida.dlg :

There seemingly is a check with "sense motive" :

This is the part following directly the "normal" dialog, without diisspelling magic. The character just plainly speaks to/with her. Nothing more.

I deduce from that that the party members skill to sense a motive isn't high enough, so they cannot actually see what's going on.

If one party member uses a spell to banish the magic, then the quest seems to be kind of screwed, because the check for the motive was overridden.

That's what I think about it now.

And by the way, there is no flag or whatsoever with the value [148] in this dlgfile, only [149] as the nearest number to that.

By the way, I found a "quotes.mes", and I just thought : What about replacing these quotes with the tips in the tip.mes ? This could/would be a nice kind-of "quote for the day" thing ! ;)

game.global_flags[148] does not appear in the dialog. It appears in the python script that determines which line of dialog you start at when you talk to her, and another that runs when you cast Dispel Magic on her. [148] is set when you cast Dispel Magic on her. [149] is set if you do not take her in the party and escort her home. [38] is set when you safely deliver her home.

I don't think the quest is screwed if you cast Dispel Magic on her without having a Sense Motive high enough to get those lines. It is metagaming of sorts, because it implies the player has access to knowledge that the characters don't, but the quest itself should function normally from there on out.

Noticing the German in the dialog you posted above, I hope that is your translation and not GULP. GULP was written for Atari Patch 2, not the Co8 mod. Using GULP with the Co8 mod will break many of the changes and additions Co8 has made.

@Blue; Alrik is playing with patch 2 and the Gulp for this (his first) run through ToEE.

Oh, well that explains a lot of things. Paida was messed up to begin with. Without the Co8 fixes I'm not surprised these things are happening. ;)

    Well, I could CRY ! :(

After thousands of CTDs (or so it seemed to me), after lots of releading, I finally finished Hedrack with his party !

Being happy with my final success (which had cost me about a week), I decided to save the game quickly - not using the autosave "feature".

What happened ?`Nothing. The game dis nothing but a sporadic HD access, and apart from that, the whole PC had been frozen ! At least for 10 minutes.

I'm sooo sad and angry at the same time ! I guess I have no other "option" as trying it again, if I really want to finish that game ... :(

Wow, I did it. After gazillions of CTS, crashes and only two or at least very few occations when the party was *really* defeated, I made it !

But ... - the program needs disturbingly long time for writing a savegame on my harddisk. I was about to terminate the program, when it finally went back to normal.

I clearly saw that my PC is hard on the edge for having the game "playable". Overall, the performance isn't bad at all, at some points quite quirky, but that's nothing i could accustoom myself with ;) , but this particular fight clearly showed me the borders of my system !

I'm playing it on Win98SE, with an Athlon Thunderbird 800 (first or second breed) but luckily with over 300 MB RAM. (The original system had merely 64 MB.) My graphics card is an NVidia GeForce 2 GTS manufactured by Elsa, with only 32 MB video RAM.

So, it is playable, more or less. I wonder how slow it will be on the nodes.

Heh, good luck with the nodes dude, I get lag, and hard lockups lasting in excess of 30 minutes each in the fire node, I have a 2.7ghz intel celeron processor, 512mb of RAM, 128mb Nvidia graphics card and still suffer with the lag.

    Thanks., :D I'm sure I need it. :D

Could be, I guess, that modern cards are optimized so much for 3D they are instead possibly increadibly slow with bitmaps.
