thanks , but i followed the instructions but i the ranger levels for otis and some other chances still dont see the vendor for jaroo was this removed?
Well how can I answer that? Firstly, you SHOULD see the vendor. Afaik (from looking at the .zip, I have no time to test a mod this big and no inclination to apologise for that) there is certainly a new merchant in the Grove. If you don't see her (I think its a her, I assume it is the 'Loralei' character mentioned in the .zip) then you have either put the maps folders in the wrong place, or you haven't cleared the maps cache. Check the read-me to make sure you have put the maps folders in correctly and make sure you cleared the cache. If you do see her, well, you're not going to talk to her anyway, because there is no dialogue file in the .zip for her that I can see. Well, when the precious leave, I guess its up to the elites to pick up the ball. If you do find someone else in there but they won't talk to you, add the attached file to your dlg folder. Only if you find the vendor and she doesn't talk, otherwise it won't do anything and may overwrite something else, I dunno maybe I am just sleepy and missed something.
Can Loralei be recruited? It would be nice to have another chic to invite and have in a party. There's a lot of chics in the game with Bonde hair. I hope she's a long-haired redhed or has long blue or pink hair [just something different from the norm in the game].
No Giant Rat King in the Inn... Hi all, quick question on the DH Quest. After I speak with Mrs Gundergoot and accept the Giant Killer Rat quest, I head downstairs. There are two spiders which I kill. I walk back up and speak with her again. She mentions the Rat is upstairs. I walk upstairs, however there is no Rat. Just the evil fighter dude. So...Just wondering what I may have missed. I checked the .PDF walkthrough and it does not mention anything special about the Rat's location. I am using the latest version of Ted's mod. Thanks!
I think you will find that Mrs. Gundergoot mentioned that Great King Rat mostly comes out at night. Since Zert (the evil fighter dude) is only upstairs during the day (he's on the main floor at night), one would conclude that you were upstairs during the day. Try going back at night.
Thanks Cerulean, that was exactly it. I had to wait until nightfall before the rat appeared. Lesson Learned: Read the dialouges...
In 0rion79's version - no. There isn't even a .dlg file. In my toffee pack - no. Theres a simple .dlg "Do you want to buy something?" "Yes/No". Provided by Shiningted, but of course if you want to fiddle with the .dlg a bit...
So Lorelei actually works and doesn't cause a CTD? Well, I take back what I said about Orion... that bit anyways. Obviously though if he didn't notice the lack of dialogue, he didn't test her in any meaningful way. Glad to hear she works though.
Ha, she works now. I had to completely re-do the entire shop for the toffee version! Orion left if in such a mess, he had lorelei use jaroo's chest for her inventory store, 5.mob files were missing, 4 duplicate items that were not accessed were included, and I used the "wanna trade" yes/no dlg you wrote to make it work!
Ok, I am going to yank this lot off the Co8 server since it is all in the Co8 4 mod and is taking up a fair bit of space there for no reason. If anyone has any objections, speak now!
Ted, Kudos for an entertaining set of additions to the game. I have to admit I was one of the people who were saying "just bug fixes, no original content!" but now I completely agree; if you're not interested in running errands for witches or perverted sex, just don't talk to Lila or walk into the Brothel. Easy, neh? Now, I wish I had ever played those games in the past--back in my day *creebles around shedding flakes of rust* I either played wargames on my Apple IIc or played "real RPGs" with dice and friends. Never met Lord British myself or I'd appreciate the jokes more, I'm sure. One major problem with Saduj & company: the daemon says he's not gonna die for this $#@! and dematerializes if seriously hurt. Unfortunately, if actually _killed_, he doesn't say anything, instead, CTD immediately. This occurs with and without frontend, with and without Elmo/Otis (or, in fact, ANY npcs) in the party, and regardless of actual method of death. First time, I just got lucky with a "phantasmal killer" spell; so the next time I deliberately killed everyone else, then surrounded the guy, tripped him, hasted everyone, and killed him with ground attacks and AoOs as he tried to stand up. This CTD has been repeated every time I killed the daemon, and I've been experimenting for two days straight with different hardware, software, and character/equipment combinations. Problem with the script for his "enough, I'm out of here" comment, perhaps? Fix, please! --Blair "I'll get you, my pretty, and your little beeotch from Hades too!"
