    Additional Notes:

    1. My party was able to enter Frank's house without talking to Myella, no need to be teleported. And, my party leader was able to talk with Frank.

    2. The Ah Fong Emporium stopped working; it casuses a CTD. I do not know why. The only things my party did since--it used to work--was to do half of Desperate Housewives plus talk to Frank, did the Cure Amii quest, got Mathilde to marry Filliken and buy him a barn [what a sugar momma], and talked with Elmo, Otis, and Gwenno.
    * Yes, auto-save map changes is off. I cleared the map cache. Defragmented. Rebooted. It still did not work. I re-added the ShiningTeds MOD and Character Portraits imports. Rebooted. It still does not work.
Any suggestions other than wait for patch 1.0.6?

    3. Just a thought, here's a fabulous idea. It would be great if a folder named mapcache could be made and used along with a script to move the map cache files to the mapcache folder, say for example when the party leaves the map area.
    * The effect of moving map cache files at an appropriate time in the game to a mapcache folder would be the same as deleting the map cache files. The map cache files moved to the mapcache folder could be easily deleted at a later time done either manually or by using a simple bat file after closing and exiting the game or before starting the next game session.

    Thanks..
    :)

Man, on a Friday night when SCIFI preempts SGI/SGA/BSG and plays a 6-hour stretch of previous SG1 voted favorites, you guys disappear from this forum like when somebody turns on a light and roaches run away and hide. Smirk. j/k lol

Your party SHOULD be able to talk to Frank without Myella's quest, I mean he doesn't just come into existance at that moment (though he IS created by the main DH quest). You SHOULD be able to just waltz into his house too - the teleport option is just there to save you the walk (the worst part of Fedex quests). Actually, we went to extraordinary lengths to get a door going on Frank's house in the first place: thanks again to Agetian!

I'm glad you enjoyed the random encounter (and someone got it to work!) but perhaps posting a spoiler of the whole thing wasn't the most appropriate way of expressing this. [EDIT: Thanks for fixing that] Gwenno is a character from another game - my mod is essentially (at its latter stages) that most wretched of things, a cross-over. Sorry u don't recognise her, but of course I can't say more here. Let's just say the crossbow is named after her husband.

I will look at the Ah-Fong issue, but first, you DID delete the files Cujo mentioned in his install instructions before installing the patch? That is probably the reason.

I added the mapcache folder idea as # 3 in the above post, please don't miss reading it and let me know if you think it is a good idea and you could have it added?

    Thanks..

Just use Toffee, it comes with a 'clear the map cache' button. That is so easy to use I doubt anyone will make something else: I for one don't have the programming ability to do it.

Please read my edited version of the entry I made above concerning Gwenno. Let me know what you think of it. (because you probably prefer this) Grin.

I remember following the instructions and doing that.

    Anyway..

I downloaded a new copy of MOD 1.0 and patch 1.0.5. I deleted the specified folders in MOD 1.0 following the Cujo v2 text file instructions. I deleted the old DH Guides per the same instructions. I copied the folders to the correct game folder, a new installation.

It still crashes when the party enters the room, the Ah Fong Emporium.

    Thanks for helping!

I'm not a developer; by profession, I am a Network Engineer. If someone already made a button in a program for CLEAR THE MAP CACHE, I'd think the button was most likely written in VB (supposed to be kind of easy to make buttons), although it could be C++ or maybe C++ OOPS (too much effort). I doubt if it is dotNET (computers have to have the dotNET client piece to use), and I'd hope a developer wouldn't code it as javascript or, worse, as a java applet (eww). Do you know who wrote it? If it is written in VB, the coder in just a few minutes time should be able to easily make a seperate executable file from the code for the button functionality and make it available to share it here. That would be awesome. :)

Agetian developed Toffee (I strongly recommend using it btw) and since it requires .Net to work, that may be how he wrote it. 'Button' is a euphemism, actually it is a check-box.

Ok I will get onto the Ah Fong issue, think I know what it is.

Actually the folders I said to delete before installing my mod won't hurt the game if they're left undeleted because they are for the most part redundant, all except the black noble are a waste of space and could add to confusion later if left floating around. the game no longer looks at the files in those folders unless you didn't install correctly then it might look for some of the files.

Well I forgot to delete first time and when I spawned my curved heater to look at it, it CTD. Dunno y but it did!

Krunch, I checked Ah Fong, I had no problems. Have u been restarting with each new install or just copying players over? Would you mind starting a new game with fresh players and seeing if you have any issues? (use 'give 12890' to get yourself to Nulb at the start of a new game). O and thanks for editting out the spoiler.

As I said, for the most part...

[EDIT] this is what the prince looks like now as soon as you meet him, if using the VERY latest patch (it might be so new that it's not on the board yet)

Sorry...in my eagerness to reply, I sometimes come across as, well, a jerk.

    Ditto.
