I must be going insane Old Book, I can't find the Paida dlg file in there. Can't believe I didn't include it... bizarre. Anyways, here it is. Put it in the same place Y'Dey's went (data/dlg) Edit after another 17 seconds: the next patch is slightly delayed by some .mob issues but will be worth it, has a new shopkeeper with all the new weapons etc.
Save before you face the final thing, because the next patch should have a beefed up version you might wanna replay (or, you might not). Hey did you get the random encounter?
Saved right after giving over the Cruet, and then just kept leaving town until I got the encounter. took 2-3 tries. Met her between Homlet and the moat house.
Paida wouldn't talk to me about the Lila quest after I turned her over to her husband, then she disappeared on me. I consoled in the Eye of Newt. Sorry I didn't mention that earlier. Yay for beefed up version! Did you get the spell to work?
Just out of curiousity, has anyone actually used the 3rd or 4th level Rgr/Pal spells or any of the other spells of mine included with Ted's mod? In particular I would like to know the reaction to my work around for the Rgr/Pal 3rd and 4th level spells. Is it something we can live with? Are the hints in the spell descriptions noticeable enough or should they be made more obvious? Feedback on these issues would be much appreciated. Also any comments on the other spells would be welcome. Thnx Darmagon
@ Shiningted: I sent you an e-mail but got no response yet, so I thought I'd post here as well. I can't reproduce your mob problem, whatever I do, so please send me a step-by-step guide to what you did before the exception was raised. For me, mob linking works perfectly right, and I even created a couple test merchants just to make sure it does Anyway, just for the sake of safety, check if there are any 'invalid' (size=0 bytes) MOB files in your ToEEWB Mobiles folder. If there are, delete them, and try again. Everything works absolutely perfectly for me, so I can't even think of what you could have done to make it give you the errors you saw (MOBSavingError is an exception that occurs internally when one of the saving functions fails to pass a valid parameter to another function that saves a smaller chunk of a MOB file (like a property or something), and that's something so internal that I won't expect to see it displayed to the end-user at any time -- since it's displayed to you, something very very weird and unusual has happened). But anyway, it still *may* be a bug, so please send me that step-by-step instruction on how to make it crash, OK? - Agetian
<whinny voice cos we all know how it gets us what we want faster> Ted make a v2 patch with all your stuff in it (maybe not the sounds) so I can download it cos I need a fresh install.
AGAIN with the fresh install... You know the last one i did u was a shocker!! Agetian has just sorted out a mob issue for me so there will definitely be a patch tomorrow. Redownload the mod now and the patch tomorrow: as always the patch is cumulative so you will only need one. That SHOULD be the last patch - it certainly has the last of the new content I want to put in atm - but I will wait and make sure before I clog up the server with a whole mod upload.
As I'm not really in a position to play at the moment, have you put those encounters in <cough>king of the golden mountain thing<cough>? And to everyone else sorry but you won't have any idea what I'm talking about.
No, but i HAVE put in the basics for a nice quest for the HH Steel. And I am certainly going to do those, when I say things like 'i am drawing a line under my mod' etc. there will still be more stuff to come, just not part of that mod. Edit: the All Blacks SUCK btw unch:  :anger: I both improved the spell itself and thought of a workaround for the issue that causes the CTD.
Ha ha. Thats the second Wallabie I've seen run over in the last 2 weeks. On a less "we're better at sports than you note" I don't mind waiting for the encounters/quests for my other items, infact the longer I wait the highter my expections of your exquisite work. and If I figure out how to make a spell that turns you into a toad or frog then I'll send it over so that can be a reward for failing the quest.
Finished Ted's mod. Well done, Ted. CG Party: Human Cleric of Kord 7, Human Wizard 7, Elf Rogue 1/Wizard 7, Otis at 10, Elmo at 8, Meleny at 7. Point buy, no reloads. The final fight was easy enough, but could have gone badly if my party hadn't made their saves against a round 1 area spell. As it was, two Fireballs, a Sound Burst and a Flame Strike almost ended the fight, as well they should have. The last foe made all of her saves, and had to be taken down in HtH. Spoiler (highlight to read, or just skip): I never played Ultima, but it's impossible to be around CRPGs and not know a bit about it. I'd have rather not seen refs to a non-D&D game in ToEE, but they were well done, and didn't break immersion much. Also, ToEE is no Baldur's Gate and not anywhere near Morrowind; Immersion has never been the main point. The treasure was fair considering the trouble of getting it. I'll play the mod through at least one more time with a LG party, mostly to test Darmagon's spells. Ranger, Paladin, Rogue/Fighter, Druid, Wizard, Cleric, no NPCs (unless Ted adds even more new dialog for them). Saved the CG party's pre-fight game so as to try the new re-done final battle from the next patch ASAP. So, thanks Ted. Enjoyed it.
