ok, thanks. It would be helpful if the links/threads that i listed would have a note about the 504 patch as well.

so 504 patch is officially still beta, eh? will i have to start a new game or will current saves be fine with it?

one comment, just a bit of feedback that might sound rather negative but is meant in the spirit of constructive criticism - the elixir of breakfree seems to be imo one of very few 'fix/enhancements' to the game that I've found to be somewhat less than elegant-it's weird seeing the enemies apparently drinking something every round while trapped in these spells; the first few times I saw that I remember thinking that they were consuming all the potions they had on them which meant I couldn't loot them once they were dead... it's a little aesthetics thing that just looks odd and was initially confusing, making me think that using web/entangle spells might be a less than optimal tactic if it meant the mobs use up all their potions and causing me to nearly give up those spells.

again, just a small thing as opposed to the hundreds of great fixes and additions that Co8 packs into their mods... and i don't know that there is a more elegant workable solution for it so I do not have better options/suggestions that I'd make, as I'm not familiar enough with modding this game at this point.

The CMFs are sort of betas... however they fix/add
more things than they actually break (due to beta
status)... You will have to start a new game... sorry
I forgot to tell you about that, sorry. Hmm you might
try installing CMF 5.0.1, it doesn't fix as much as the
newest one but it doesn't require you to start a new
    game.

AFAIK, the potion of break free is the only possible
solution for monsters to even try to break free... yes,
it doesn't look elegant, but it's the best work around
    anyone's came up with.

    Hope I was helpful.

Yes, you certainly were helpful. I figured that there was no other way discovered (s0 far at least) around the break free issue for mobs.

Where could i find the earlier version of the cmf? I just finished dling 504 too, lol...

It's on the very first page of the CMF submissions thread.

Here I've provided you with the link. :)

Thanks again. so i can use the earlier cmf without having to start over; i'm guessing the readme file will list changes.

Holy smokes... i just took a peak at the CMF thread and my head is spinning... there's so many mods and updates there i can't tell what's what, and some/most of it is rather beta-ish, I'm guessing... I'd probably be interested in the new content if i decide to start a new game but if i want to continue my current save I suppose I'll just have to install cmf 501 and nothing more.

Will installing dllfix 14 be redundant as far as the elixir of breakout super str fix? i.e. installing cmf 501 would make dllfix 14 unnecessary...?

any idea when the 'official' co8 version 6 will be out?

@ Ithildur- Just install 5.0.4 and be done.

Unless you're like me right now and 12 pints past prime, just do the rational thing and install the latest mod-pac. It includes the lates mods, etc.

Agreed. You may have all sorts of wierd issues if you install things in the wrong order which haven't been integrated into the CMF release.

But then again, it's always good to get some extra eyes on the things which have been done. Saves making the next full release a public beta :Crazy_Lio

Hmm, I've had several ctd with patch 504 which did not ever happen to me before... and a few other weird issues, like attacking charmed enemies causing you to receive the 'slayer of homlet' rep??

I had one major issue, the first time i tried using the ragged note you find by the throne in the temple, the entire system froze; i could not exit toee to windows even, had to hit the restart button on the pc to get out after waiting about 15 minutes.

most of the other crashes seem to happen when looking at inventory while shopping/talking with shop owners.

otherwise, some nice changes as well.... though the super str bug seems to be present still occasionally; i'll have to test it some more.

And yes, all i did was install the 504 patch package per instructions; i completely uninstalled all toee and co8 files and even erased the atari folder and started over with a fresh installation, toee, patch2, co8 5.0, then unzi0pped the 5.0.4 files to the toee folder... started a new game...
