By the looks of it, it fires the instant you land in the water node (or at least in that sector), long before you get anywhere near him or his men, but at least it is an 0rion original. Who'da thought it? He's given Grank's .py file a complete overhaul. Obviously never tested it of course, but at least he tried.

 

Chapter 3: No Cure For Orion Fever

Okay, so Ted already covered this in his blog, and it doesn't abide by the rules I listed above. But having narrowly escaped Jaroo's Fun House and my run-in with the inexplicably contrary Orion character Loralei, I've got to repeat the episode here.

I'd say don't go in there if you can avoid it, unless it's to observe Jaroo's cloak flapping like a pair of bat wings. :scratchhe (And unless you've got some Dramamine handy.) Note that I was able to choose between different dialogue responses in this encounter. Fascinating!


Loralei: Greetings.

PC: Hello. I am Snapperhead. Who are you? shrug: I don't take no shit off nobody.)

Loralei: Hello, I'm Loralei, Jaroo's apprentice. Nice to see you.

PC: I didn't know that Jaroo had one! Where do you come from, exactly? (Damn straight. I'll not be blown off here. :smarty: )

Loralei: I'm from a small village under the law of Veluna, but still very far away from the city. Oh, I miss it so much... I can't wait to end my training here and to leave the city life: there are too many persons here!

PC: You know, you look like the kind of druid that is all "animals and plants". You shouldn't forget to care about people too. (This hadn't actually occurred to me, but wtf? I guess. :blank: )

Loralei: All people always react in the same whay when they meet me but nobody understands that I respect equally every life and that I only follow the nature's law. Life is not easy, nature doesn't help anybody but people have to help themselves.

PC: Maybe it is true, but you are more intelligent than an animal and I still belive that you should show more compassion toward other humans, elves, dwarves and so on. (Now I'm just trying to distract her while I find a way out of here. :blink: )

Loralei: For some things that you say, and only for some of them, sometimes you remember me Jaroo. Still, I made my mind but I'll reflect on your words if ObadHai will give me a sin.

PC: I hope so, Loralei. Take care of you. (Er, right. We're all set then! _O: )

Now now, he can't help being less than eloquent in the global tongue... making the characters from 'far away Veluna, where they speak funny' wasn't a bad idea, and he did ask for help in that regard once.

Gaear putting Orion's pic on the screenshots, though, cracked me up. Ahh well, small things for small minds :icon_chuc
