Felt bad about this, I had noticed it too, then promptly forgot. You've probably got it figured by now, but if not.

The instance I saw was in first level Sorcerer spells. Between "Enlarge Person" and "Expiditious Retreat" "Error! Missing line 740 in spells.mes"

My KoTB doesn't have an updated spells.mes and the orginal ToEE one only goes up to 732 which I imagine is the cause of the problem. In 5.0.0 line 740 is "Ray of Clumsiness".

I'll try to remember to report any further bugs I see. ;)

    Cuchulainn.

Ummm you have a bad memory stick? I can't think what there is in the files we fiddle with that would do that.

(Actually I get that error a lot, not just with ToEE - aging hardware, I suspect).

well i reinstalled KotB and it works fine now so i dont know what it was about. kinda of odd though, i used the hex editor to peek at those numbers but im not good enough with hex to understand what it was.

the last three weeks of back and forth between Ted and LGW don't seem to have much to do with the status of the mod. Couldn't you guys just PM each other, and maybe post when you have a solution to whatever the problem of the day is?

    :bored:

Question: Do these KotB threads need to be moved to the new private KotB area, or no? Maybe move them to the new private area and leave just one thread here with one post that is locked and closed stating a message indicating the KotB threads have been relocated to the new private area.

This was a question about having two different forums for modding efforts of the KotB. A couple of threads could remain in the public GM forums, one thread like the status report for modding announcements and public feedback and another separate thread for various public questions and answers. New people could volunteer to help mod the KotB in the status report thread. It seems to me that having two overlapping modding forums will be over complicated.

Well if you are asking, should we move this whole public KotB forum over to the General area not the Modders area (which certainly wasn't what you were asking the first time), then yes I would agree to that :)

    Update

I realise with the advent of the Private Forum, public comment on this has been quiet (actually, the private forum has been pretty damn quiet too!) but rest assured KotB is steadily chugging away. I am in the process (among other things) of trying to get an appropriate demo concept going: that is, work out exactly what would make a fun playable demo (using what we have now) and then draw the line in the sand and work toward it.
