    Y'all do realize he's known as Lareth the Beautiful, right? Bertram ought to hit on him, and Lareth ought to do whatever it is he does to people being a Chaotic Evil S.O.B. and all...

    He is further described as "...young, handsome, well endowed in abilities and aptitudes, thoroughly wicked and depraved, capricious...the dark hope of chaotic evil...cunning and evil to the core."

    Certainly not above toying with the affections of an impressionable former-cabin-boy-turned-pirate-dentist; if for no other reason than to string him along and crush his feelings every chance he gets. Perhaps one day, Bertram will get even. Hell hath no fury, it is said...

    If I were playing Lareth, I'd use Bertram to gain control of the pirates (through flouride or whatever... :eyebrow: ) and get them to add to the general chaos of things in a more benficial way to my goals of Oerthly domination...in Lolth's name, of course.

    And Bertram thought Tolub was bad (read: good). Lareth should give him the cold sweats.

    I've been looking on the boards a bit for the Black Jay's Dead Sheep quest info. I'm getting the same info that everyone else is getting.

    I talk to Jay, and I only have the option of telling him that the hemlock is poison.
    Corl is dead, and his father won't tell me anything more.

    And, as a side note, maybe I shouldn't have killed Lareth when he lead me to the ToEE back door. Cause I just now tried going in the back way, and was slaughtered.

    That's as far at the quest goes in 1.5 (afaict). Liv mentioned expanding it a bit further in 2.0, which may be available soon.

    That's part of the standard game. For something more interesting, dismiss him from your party before going to the Temple, don't kill him, and see what happens. Most of the info on this is in this thread.

    Other than the fact that you get to find out who Corl's killer is, when they boast about it, I am not sure it has much further to go.

    Jaroo's Bear

    I've noticed that Jaroo no longer seems to have his bear in Liv's mod. Is that just my install, or what?

    My Evil Parties welcome the chance to go bear hunting. My Good parties wouldn't dream of stealing from Jaroo. :p

    In the game i have problems with some of my characters. My rogues can't go past a certain level because they get a class feat but none are there. My soecerer can't get 7th level spells and neither can my bard. The game forces me to cross class.

    Yes, yes it does.

    The game stops at level 10. It has been modded to go further, but not surprisingly there is no support for those higher levels, other than more HP's etc. No specific support.

    Higher level spells are being worked on.

    I actually tested this out a while back. With cats grace cast on my lead rogue, I got two sucessful picks, and the third he noticed me.
    And upon opening the chest, he went aggro on me.

    But that was only because my rogues skills were just so low.

    I actually asked this a while ago but no one payed any attention, but since nothing's happened since then...I wonder if anyone else has gotten any results. A while back, when Rannos and Gremag were still alive they asked me to assasinate Armario to join and assasin's group. So of course, I went and killed Armario and got the following reputation:

    Initiate of Assasin's group
    Background:
    As part of your initiation you have killed an innocent. Your mission completed you now wait ffor further contact. But for how long? You know next to nothing about this guild, which is not surprising considering the nature of your profession.

    Effect:
    You're not sure what to do next. You can't help but wonder if you have been played for a fool. But then again, perhaps this is merely a test of your patience and resolve.

    This was Day 17, I'm now at Day 221 and my patience and resolve is starting to wear thin, thus, I conlcude I've been played a fool. Anyone else try this quest? Or get any other results?

    Overall, I'm delighted with this 1.5 mod, but I'm having problems with the trap in the main corridor of the 4th level, and also with npcs killed by Iuz and then raised by Cuthbert.

    Here's a summary of what I have tried that didn't work, and everything that I tried with the first control box I also tried with the second:

    1. Disable Device (9th. level Rogue, with disable device score of 13).
    2. Open control Box, talk to ball of light.
    3. Open control Box, attempt to disable device.
    4. Cast spell Dispel Magic on both control boxes and trap zone.
    5. Cast Ice Storm on both control boxes and trap zone.
    6. Fireball on both control boxes and trap zone.
    7. Call Lightning Storm on control box, trap zone.
    8. Cast Knock Spell on control box.
    9. Start a combat, and have my people run through trap zone with nobody still in it when trap's initiative comes up in combat order. This works fine, except that the combat never ends because the trap can't be killed in combat.
    10. Let Scorpp club the control box.

    Here's two things that worked, but left the trap functional, which is a huge and unacceptable hassle for a location right in the way of access to the nodes:

    1. Boots of Speed get one person through safely.
    2. Casting at least two spells that protect from electricity on each party member, but that's a lot of spell slots.

    Also, I am still having problems with Pintark, my orc ally who was killed by Iuz and raised by Cuthbert. I can't kill him, not even by clicking on his portrait during combat, and the area of effect spells don't effect him. He won't drink Belsornig's poison that I placed in his inventory. Pintark can't be talked to now, so I can't ask him to leave the group, so he is counting against my 8-character limit.

    Also, Pintark is invisible, and even his 3D portrait looks empty now. However, he still takes a share of the loot, and since all of his own equipment vanished, he has plenty of space for more stuff in inventory. It's like my party is being haunted by a ghost. From what I can tell, this only happens to my npcs that killed by Iuz and raised by Cuthbert.

    Now, I installed this 1.5 mod while I had a game in progress. Could that have caused some of my problems?
