I don't think the drelb is undead, I think I used Charm Monster on one, and undead should be immune to that.

I just mentioned in Hans' story about what I have been up to since my last post in this thread...

Basically, I have been trying to complete the game in IronMan with 0 NPC's in the party aside from escort quests.

I have had to restart several, several, several times with my best attempts reaching level 7 and 10, however...I have successfully broken the barrier. Once I hit level 12 in this latest venture...the next 8 levels came extremely fast! Soo...the lower levels is what takes all the time & where you can die from something stupid. The higher levels came so fast because the encounters are worth so much experience and there is only one guy gettin it. Nice.

My IronMan toon is Lv20 now...Lv2 Barbarian, Lv4 Fighter, Lv2 Rogue & Lv12 Cleric of Kord with the domains of Luck & Good (for the Holy enchant). Combine all this with the Crafting feats of Arms & Armor and Wonderous Items gives you a wide range of items to make as you need them. Like, I use the glass' of minute seeing for search checks, Helm of Reading Magic for identifying scrolls & potions, etc. So I have different gear for different occasions like the Mithral Plate Armor enchanted to +3 (AC+11) for the straight combat fights or I don the best elven chain (+8) for when I need to make my saves using the evasion feat from the Rogue class against the AoE attacks like Fireballs, etc. I alternate out the Mithral Tower Shield +3 (+7 AC) for the standard +3 Steel shield (+5 AC) when I need to reduce my armor check penalty...etc.

My AC is either 33 or 31 depending on which set of armor I use. (Soooooo many misses!) His Hit Points is 214. Stats with the items that buff are...St 25, Dex 18, Con 20, In 18, Wis 20, and Char 14. Saves: Fort +23, Reflex +15, Will + 17.

Items: Periapt of Wound Closure (regen like a troll...!), Robes of Midnight (turn inviso & +2 deflection), Ring of FireResist-minor, +3 Cloak of Resistance, Boots of speed, +3 Morningstar of Holy & Flaming Burst (for the creatures needing bludgeoning), +3 Composite Longbow +4 St to damage that is enchanted Holy & Flaming Burst. Boots of speed of course and some other miscellaneous stuff.

I currently still have the middle Temple level with the Fire, Water & Air temples to clear out...the very bottom level from Hedrak on plus the 4 nodes...and all of Verbobonc to do. So there is still alot of adventuring to do but it goes extremely fast now that I'm wading through the enemies. So I'm taking a small break & savoring some wandering monster encounters (hoping for the Prince' reward of Scather to trigger) and showing off my toon to my friends as he mow's through 12 trolls at a time...LoL.

Now the encounters that I may skip until after I kill Zug are the Slavers & the Fire Salamanders in the Fire Node. With some properly prebuffed spells like Protection from Energy(Fire) and using Dust of Dissapearance, etc...these encounters can perhaps be managed but due to the danger level...I think they would be best handled last. I have found from my previous IronMan playing that once you beat the game, you can go back into your game pre-Zug slain. So after you beat her and watch the end game cinematics...you can reload your game & instead of going to kill Zug you can back off & do the things that you skipped. This at least is my plan.

I must admit...playing solo IronMan has been the most fun I have had with ToEE. It's hard...it's rewarding and you definitely get the worry of loss if you get killed.

    What a Great Game...!

    God Bless.

All done...successful completion of solo Ironman w/out any NPC's with the above listed Hybrid Cleric. (I did change a few things around w/magical items & also got Wilfrick's Scather quest reward.) I want to mention how imporant it is to have the 2 levels of Rogue for the evasion skill...saves mass damage vrs the AoE fire/cold spells in the Nodes.

Definitely the Slavers are the hardest fight in the game as Zug goes down pretty easily comparitively. With a high use magic device skill for wands of Otilukes Resiliant sphere & improved invisibility and being hasted allowed me to divide and conquer. Killing the healer first was definintely the key as he couldn't take Scather's full power attacked hits, and neither could the rest. I did have to use a few full heal's though, of course.

I think now I'm done for awhile as there's nothing harder to do really. Sooo...once again, Ty Co8 for the work you did to give us the new content.

    What a great game.

    God Bless.
