Using temple+. Is the limit on using NPCs in the party still at 5? Is there a way to increase that to 7? I have a party with one PC, and 5 NPCs, and just told Otis that he can't join me because I have too many followers already. PS I'm using version 56
I was under the impression that Temple+ automatically adjusts party size to suit the party during regular play, no need to manually adjust it, nut there is the option to within the Temple+ launcher's options.
By "the Temple+ launcher's options", do you mean the configuration launcher? I can't find anything in that about party size. If it is something else, where do I find it?
Nope, just checked, it isn't there. I must have been remembering an older version. Temple+ is meant to automatically adjust the party's PC/NPC split (8/0, 7/1, 6/2, 5/3, 4/4, or 3/5) depending on it's current configuration and allow/refuse new NPC's if there is no available space for them (IE party size = 8 already). There is a hard limit of a minimum of 3 PC's, apparently the game doesn't like more than 5 NPC's at a time.
IIRC you can't have more than 5 NPCs because of some code in the logbook system that goes haywire if you do.
OK. Thanks for the information. I'll simply have to make do without Otis . And thanks to everyone involved for all the awesome work that has been done to improve this game!
Just had a strange situation occur. My Bard, while using his "inspire courage" ability, made an attack of opportunity against the Druid's wolf companion, while the party was in combat with a couple of Bugbears. The Bugbears were slain, but combat continued with the wolf attacking the Bard. One circumstance seems to be that the wolf got left behind on level 2 of the ToEE when the party went to the spiral staircase. I wondered where the wolf had gone, and then assumed that it had probably died during the most recent combat. Before re-entering the level, the Druid got herself a new Brown Bear animal companion. Upon re-entering level 2, the wolf was suddenly there again, as well as the bear.
While resting in the Moathouse Zombie area, my rogue accidentally walked into the Gnome captive room, passing by the Ogre. No one seemed to care (i.e. the Ogre did not become hostile), so I had the rogue sneak back to the rest of the party. I ended up getting a random encounter, and the Ogre became hostile once the combat led into the room where most of the Zombies were, (and I hadn't closed the doors to the Ogre room). So we went after the Ogre, and managed to take him down and kill him. During the fight with the Ogre, the Gnomes became active participants, and I think one of them cast a defensive spell, but they took no other actions. However, once the Ogre was killed, I couldn't get out of combat, couldn't talk to the Gnomes, and couldn't flee combat via the stairs. I figure killing the Gnomes would end combat, but I don't want to do that. Is there a way to exit combat in this situation?
The flee combat option on the radial menu sometimes helps, though any xp earned from the fight is forfeit IIRC.
You could also teleport out by using the dungeon master. I think combat will also end if you're far away enough. Try going down the stairs. As a last resort you can knock them out with nonlethal damage.
Im not sure if this is the right place but Im having trouble downloading Temple+. I've had it before (outstanding BTW) BUT I've encountered some serious issues and had to start over. I bought TOEE from GOG and downloaded/installed Co8(also outstanding) and that seems to work. I created a file under root c not in program files. I have Win 10. use as admin. no firewall issues i think. So i followed the link to moddb, left click to download, get pop window to try another mirror, left click one of the options, then chose RUN(ALSO TRIED save as) then get installation has failed. I'v tried multiple times (possibly a mistake) the first time it seemed to work, loaded game ,showed current version. Closed it,loaded game again and it CTD. the personal settings in the menu configuration reverted back to starting settings. This was similiar to the problems that started it all. I have the feeling that im missing something obvious yet vital. Any thoughts? Also, thanks again for your superb work.
I have Windows Defender Firewall but managed thru Mcafee. I'm not a fan of the new McAfee. can't seem to custom select programs to allow as exceptions. It expires soon so I will dump it for Norton or something else, then try Temple+ again. Thanks Sitra.
