try D/L playful NPCs 1.3 again and see if that works, then install all that other stuff over the top of it.
Ok, got the first file to download properly. I reinstalled in order all of the above mods to their respective folders, toee, data, dlg, and mes if I remember right. I will report back if I have any problems. Oh and I had downloaded and installed Darmagon's newspells before I found this thread, but I don't anticipate any problems, who knows. EDIT: Okay everything is running fine, I loaded up a party of the premade characters and found something interesting. One of the half orc fighters was named Giant and when the game launched he was a red dragon flying 50 ft in the air? Strange and news to me as I don't recall that in any of the patch notes. I will investigate the rest of the premade chars. tomorrow as I'm getting too tired to stay up any longer. EDIT: Okay he's definitely named Giant, is true neutral, and looks more like one of the giant mutated Geckos from Fallout 2 than a dragon. He is bright red and flying extremely high in the air.
Sorry sorry sorry our fault... He should be orange. EDIT: Seriously, I hope u put Darmagon's stuff on last? Actually, not sure how it plays along with the other stuff, but then thats what the (hopefully soon) Co8 4.1 patch will do. But it can't hurt to try (I mean I seriously doubt it would hurt to try).
Okay, I might reinstall everything tonight in that order with spells last. I was also wondering if I should maybe make a new thread for putting in anything I find that is out of the ordinary or if it is okay to put it in this thread. I usually try to stay on topic, and as I have found this stuff after installing these mods I'm hoping I still am. After work I will do a fresh install, patch, and mod update and see how it goes. EDIT: Just did a fresh install and discovered the new pre-made char. named Giant is introduced in 4.0.0. After installing only the Playful NPCs v1.3 his picture stays the same but instead of appearing as a giant per 4.0.0 he is now the aforementioned red/orange flying Gecko. I'm assuming then that you know about this change Ted and that it's not a bug. I'm going to finish installing the rest of the mods on this list and then newspells before playtesting further. Also, is it possible to run a second copy of ToEE on another hard drive so that I can have one game running vanilla 4.0.0 and one game running all of these pre-4.1.0 mods for bug-hunting? Thanks.
Well, u can run it vanilla right where you are - thats what the front end is for. Just make a second copy of data.Co8_4.0.0 and the Co8_4.0.0 module, and install 4.1 over them (when it comes out, or Playful NPCs 1.3 and everything else that is floating around atm) then pick the one you want to play. I have normal ToEE, Livs pack, Co8 4.0.0 and KotB all on my Toffee for bug-fixing and modding, as you say. O and sorry to be facetious about the giant - he is meant to be there, but is meant to be an actual giant.
Hmm, I understand the concept behind using the front end to run a vanilla 4.0.0 and a copy of it with the other mods, but I don't know how to set that up. Also, I found your comment about the giant funny, and I liked the screen shake etc. when he was in giant form for 4.0.0. Is there anyway we can get him changed back from his red gecko look? Also I have found a bug with the wood tower shield not animating properly. Once you equip it and start moving around the shield doesn't lay properly on the arm. Actually I'm going to have to check the forum for the bug list so I don't keep reporting them here, unless you guys want me to.
Sober Elmo and Summonable familiars mods... Here's a link. This should be added after Darmagon's new spells. Please use the attached files NOT the linked download if you have all other renegade mods installed. The linked download is for the vanila Co8-4.0.0 patch. The attached files include other changes from the renegade mods, but not all the files from each renegade mod - they should all be added first but this will not break them.
Hey Allyx - Those separate files don't integrate too well into the links in post 1 above (I'd have to list them all separately). Is there any way we could condense them, for the sake of the renegade-mod-using lost souls? They're not likely to look beyond the initial list. BTW, thanks for always remembering to post here.
just use this link Gaear http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?p=25701#post25701 it goes straigt to the post with the mod in it.
I have compiled all renegade mods into one easy to install .zip file. Just unzip this file into your ToEE root folder. Get the Co8-4.0.1 patch here. Credit for each mod included goes to all contributers and a short (and I do mean short) read.me file (even though I hate them) is included. I also recommend Cerulean the Blue's Portrait and Voice pack (which is not included in this patch due to the size issue). However the familiar portraits are included.
Good job, Allyx. Maybe you should add some installations instructions (like, "Unzip this file into your ToEE root folder" or sth like that).
okay now how does this integrate with sober elmo and with darmogons spells and the spell sound effects mods?? do i install the all in one(4.01) then voices/portrait pack then darmogons and then elmo and then a stand alone familars mod?? (since there is a notice above that says install elmo and call familars AFTEr darmogons) or do i just install this then the voices then spells then spell sounds and im good to go... see what im asking?
The Elmo and familiars mods are included, Ceruleans voice and portraits pack are not, but If you're adding Darmagon's spells I'd do it before adding this mod (I wasn't sure if it is still in a beta stage so I didn't add it in). To clarify the order is... Co8-4.0.0 Darmagons spells (optional but may still be in Beta) Co8-4.0.1 Portrait & Voice pack (optional but recomended)
You are a champion, Allyx. Main post updated with the new bundle, although I'm going to keep the individual links up so that we still know what's in there. Edit: btw, I do believe that darmagon's spells are still in limited release, so they shouldn't be in the package yet.
Thanks for that,Gaear. Yeah I would still consider the spells beta. Especially with the enhancements Gaear is adding. We'll go full release once the sounds are done and a few tweaks have been made. Darmagon
