Cerulean the Blue. Otherwise known as the Blue Meanie. One of the most active of the Co8 modders around today. Don't let him find out you didn't know who he was ---->:chairshot [Edit] - Damn, Cujo beat me to the punch...
Hmmm? Somebody new hasn't heard of me yet? I guess it's time to start crushing egos again. The random encounter system was always level dependent. You don't get trolls until the party is 3rd or 4th level. You don't get hill giants until about 7th level. Yes, with the max level uncapped, and the new content (meaning more XP), the game could use some higher level encounters. But what was really broken was the encounter avoidance option. No matter what the dc of the encounter 4 or 5 ranks in survival was enough to allow you to avoid any encounter. That is what I'm fixing. Soon the skill levels of the enemies as well as those of the party will factor into whether or not the party can avoid an encounter, and the degree or success or failure of the check (along with a random element) will determine the distance and placement of the enemies. Gone will be enemies all bunched up begging to be fireballed, and even with your skills maxed their will be a chance the enemies will spawn right on top of your wizard. I am adding one high level encounter, which I am sure will cause a lot of TPKs and complaints before testing is over.

[/QUOTE] excellent! ahem... ain't that a little over the top on the other hand? Unless, of course, the enemies have sneak skill, or invisibility, or the party was sleeping...
LOL Bring it on. I love a good challenge. Here is a thought for you. When I was DMing, I created an ancient red dragon named "Brimstone". He was for parties that got greedy. I will pm you the other details later if you are interested. But the experience was great, as was the rewards, BUT damn near IMPOSSIBLE to defeat.
Cool, is it in Co8 5.02 hidden as a special encounter? BTW: I still don't understand how Atari could have wasted the potential of this game. :/ Troika wanted to do something more of it. I sometimes encountered monsters that were nowherelse to be found but in a random encounter (Kyton for example). Edit: Sorry, Missed the thing about the dragons not being implemented yet. ;P
It is almost done, got some minor bugs to finish and a few more dialog changes and then it will be submitted to the powers that "B" to approve and include in the cumulative fixes... Kudos to Allyx for walking me through it and teaching me some of the basics on modding.... b.t.w. the Old Black Dragon will be a Bastard (male) to kill for as you know as they get older the AC increases... spell resistance increases and they are a 19D12+76 monster and with the corrected Acid Spell, you are going to need everything in your arsenal to win... and I think that one other modder is working on the black dragons ability to foul the water in a 10' radius which would cause all of your potions to make a saving throw or be destroyed.... You asked for it and now you shall receive it.
