    Ok..we own this too... or most of it.. some flags I don't know yet, until I play with it more, but I can do the follow:

    Any MAP or AREA:
    1) Set it to safe rest
    2) Edit what spawns on encounters & how many

    Overland Area:
    1) Change what spawns, how many

    I'm working on tweaking Delko Groove to be a kind of "Arena", to test out some features with the monster AI and random encounter scripts, as well as custom / random loot dropping.

    Framework:

    Player travels to Delko Grove.
    Player takes out existsing spiders (can't edit MAP files yet)
    Player rests, to activate modified 'delko grove' encounter settings.
    Script calculates player level, MAYBE existing classes, and spawns monsters from a RANDOM list based on party CR.

    Party battles monsters, and monster loot dropped is dynamic, based on CR of monster.

    All this looks possible, from what I've seen, so I'll give it a shot.

    This would give us a good place to test combat related bugs/fixes/mods/etc.

    MODIFIED FRAMEWORK:

    I have figured out how to teleport at will to maps, via dialogue. I've just spend the last 5 minutes wandering around the Colosseum, resting for fights... heh.

    I'll be using the Colosseum map for this, as it's really cool... there's a bunch of people cheering, in the upper decks. <g>

    I'll release a new version of HelperJay to get into the weekend patch, that includes the brothel, the colosseum, and the DEMO maps.

    My mail goal is to now figure out a way to get Troika's Colosseum script to work, that I've seen poking around :)

    Gonna go check out all the other areas now ;)

    Checking Status on this.....

    Going to start pulling everything together in about an hour or so...

    (Now, I'm going to look into the magic armor armor check penalty thing in the proto quick.. That could be an easy fix.)

    let me know if you can get this in tonight..


    (Though, I'm not sure we want to Hijack Jay...(for the colleseum, or the Brothel...

    is there another NPC that fits better?)

    We could use a guy in the Welcome Wench Inn for this. The innkeeper, perhaps?

    However, it'd be a lot better if we could implement it with our own NPC but until we figure out how to do that I suppose we could just use him. Using Black Jay would be rather silly, heheh.

    Well, It's going to be at least an hour or two before this is all ready...

    I'd rather try for realism than just add a new conversation node to Black Jay..

    You mentioned the innkeeper or something?

    How about...

    PC -->"hey isn't that a battle arena in your basement?"

    Innkeeper -->"<waves arms in front of you> This isn't the battle arena your looking for.."

    PC -->"Huh? Just let me in to the arena, okay?"

    just kidding of course.. .Whatever you guys do is fine with me tho... Black Jay or not.

    I'm aiming this towards a next friday patch roll-up timeframe. :)

    I'd like to use the colosseum, but from what i can see.. THERE'S NO EXIT :D

    BUT...

    I can drop people is the "random" maps... which will immediately initiate a fight, I think.

    I need to work a LOT more on this. :)
