Why not a ring of teleportation? A cloak of invisibility? Another Staff of Striking? If they don't actually do anything (our version) besides have their special abilities, their treasure should probably be neutral, e.g. coins or gems. And yet our version doesn't use those items, so it's not like it would be carrying them around for that purpose. I'm pretty sure the seahag appears only that one time, so whatever treasure we generate for that particular mob at Imeryds Run is going to be it. Why not? I want to be able to loot their underwear and pocket lint if I choose. No, but surely there is a middle ground between realism and inanity. You say you want clothes, I say I want underwear. I understand that, but bear in mind that work has to be invested to get this stuff done. There is still a lot of more important work to do. We have to prioritize and accept the fact that not every little potential feature is going to make the cut. Therefore I can live without looting underwear. That's more like it, but again, she'll either have it or she won't so percentage chance is pointless here. You don't do percentages for coins, just ranges. So 'silver,5-100'. That means that any troll (or whatever) you encounter in a RE may have between 5 and 100 silver pieces. The next one will also have between 5 and 100 silver pieces. And so on and so on.
There are two in the Water node, actually. In the name of only implementing the change once, coins alone works. As far as "our version", the game identifies them as CR7. That would translate to an average of 2,600 gpv of stuff (using "standard treasure": http://www.d20srd.org/srd/treasure.htm#standard). The table entry from the SRD is below. The procedure as written is to roll once for each type of item (coins, goods, magic items). Coins 01-11 — 12-18 1d10 × 10,000 cp 19-35 1d12 × 1,000 sp 36-93 2d6 × 100 gp 94-100 3d4 × 10 pp Goods 01-48 — 49-88 1d4 gems 89-100 1d4 art Magic Items 01-51 — 52-97 1d3 minor 98-100 1 medium EDIT: The forum ate my formatting, so I've layed it out in two columns instead.
Just a note: it is impossible to use ToEE's treasure generation system to produce the effects of, for example, 2d6 × 100 gp. I would recommend just finding the average in these cases, and giving that.
No, I'm thinking of the hag thing in some room on Temple level 3. Yeah, please just give me a type and range of coins for ghasts and trolls, and specific stuff like a gem and some coins for the seahag.
The only thing I can think of close to that is the Banshee/Groaning Spirit in a bedroom on that level. EDIT: Sorry, I missed your "in other words..." comment. I think that would translate to 700 gold, 75 platinum, and perhaps an emerald. Assuming, of course, you don't want to go for the "minor magical item"...
Yeah, groaning spirit is it. There is also a night hag proto added by Co8 (not sure if it appears anywhere). All three use the same model. Wow - the seahag is loaded according to that formula. I think we may have to reduce that by about 90% and just be done with it.
In protos 14051 (Jackal) the entry in line: Skill 4 is MOve Silently instead of Move Silently Does that matter at all or does it need to be changed?
