Are you sure that's not just from the reward party? As I recall, you get the aura anytime you're near a paladin - even if he's an NPC not in the party, so if one of Thrommel's reward party is a pally, you'd get the aura for a few minutes.

Erkper, You could be correct. But I thought it was a party headed by a knight. A knight does not have to be dedicated to a particular god (just the code of chivalry) and would not have the paladin's aura of courage. Of course 3.5e muddies the water by including a holy knight class. But the holy knight can be of any alignment. The paladin has to be lawful good. But, to get Scather you must not be evil and to be knighted you must be good. The badges signify knighthood.

I do not know if any in the prince's group are paladins.

I see the same effect when talking to Terjon, so you could be correct.

There were no paladins in vanilla ToEE, but I think Terjon has been given a few ranks and the reward party may have been similarly changed.

Terjon has 3 levels of paladin and the knight is a 10th level paladin. The one I don't get is the circular room with the will'o'wisps. Why would aura of courage come up there?

Never mind. They have the aura of courage feat.

Yeah, I remember Kalshane saying he gave wisps the aura of courage as a "closest work-around" for something.

Probably immunity to fear: they are meant to be immune to magic, which Troika tried to immplement with a SR100, but I tihnk Kalshane tried to apply it other ways.

In protos they are immune to about everything, except magic missile and weapons. They are hard to hit. Dexterity of 29. No wonder.

Ahhh, well, thats the thing - they are meant to be immune to everything but Magic Missile. A blanket SR100 knocks that off too - thats why Kalshane fixed it.
The main reason I asked Darmagon to add Ray of Clumsiness. Try to shoot them flat-footed :)

I thought will'o'wisps have natural invisibility and if startled or frighten will use it. Is that implemented in the game? Would it not be very hard to catch them flatfooted?

I don't think thats implemented, no.
I was until Clark got bowled by a full toss that could be seen coming from so far away I actually announced it to the wife before it left his hand.

"His first ball was short, this will be too full. Yeah there it goes, full toss. O f*** it bowled him!"

After that the rest was a formality and I turned it off. :sadblinky:

It's making my girlfriend so tense I've got the emergency sevices on speed dial in case she has a heart attack.
Of course we are approaching it from the underdog's side.
