This is supposed to be fixed now, I've notified the advertising provider. If you notice anything else that shouldn't be happening, please report it here.

    Hi all :
I've gotten 2 of the strawberry pop-ups while reading this forum! I thought I was the only one getting them because I use the free Mc Caffee virus scan and pop-up blocker that comes from my isp. I've also gotten the one that wants to scan my registry for bad stuff, like I'd let some pop-up mess with my registry.

I've noticed that the pop-ups ussually happen when switching between threads.

For the record, never had any popups here, using ZoneAlarm free version and Norton AV (not that I recommend Norton).

I was suffering from Pop-ups (I used IE, and the AOL browser), until Sol Invictus suggested I try a new internet browser He recomended Mozilla Firefox so I d/l'ed it installed it, and haven't had a pop-up while at the Co8 since.

Hey Firefox it is. I have been using it since before I first found this site and also have never had any popups here (tho' some still get through other places.)

I haven't had any pop-ups for a while, but the pop-over for American Express is really getting annoying.

Computer Associates eTrust PestPatrol works wonders...loads to the systray and does active scanning as well as lets you do manual full system [all files] and quick scans.
    * The latest Microsoft Antispyware Beta is currently free, but stops working in July 2006.

Most places (walk-in stores) sell PestPatrol for 30 US dollars. I saw PestPatrol when I was at a TARGET store on their shelf in the software section for 20 US dollars.

Here's a download link to download a free 30-day trial to test PestPatrol.
    eTrust PestPatrol AntiSpyware 5.0.1.5
    download PestPatrol

Thanks Krunch. I am not having a problem with spyware, however. I am having a problem with the pop-over from the American Express add on this sight.
