Thank you very much Blue. The only thing that still irks me now, is the fact that I don't get the crash when I remove the last member of the old party... It takes some more exchanges than that here.
Just for my own peace of mind: Could you post the exact error message you get from the crash? If it is the same, I'll assume the crash is the same too. Even though the way to get it differs.

Anyway, I think I'll release the hack (still have to write the change txt). The situation now is that every time you even accidentally click on the log in the inns, you crash. With the hack you can almost use the party pool as intended, with the exception of mad swapping and removing party members on slots > 5. I don't think I can do anything about those hardcoded 5 slots in party pool, it's really deeply embedded. (If we had the source of this baby we could really make the best D&D simulator out there.)

ok here is the error i get. like Blue if i leave the inn i can keep swaping PCs without problem. its only if i stay inside that i get the error. something else i noticed this time, if i remove all 5 the first time i cant make a crash either its only if i leave one and go back that i can make the CTD.

@Spellslinger -- I did a small test that may or may not be useful information (a different test than you described). I was playing with a party of three (also w/ three NPCs at the time) (Co8 5.0.0 w/ 20-AUG Cum. Patches) and had just saved at the Welcome Wench and decided to try out the party pool book. [I had loaded via the front-end with PC count set to '3'.] I didn't remove anyone and added one member (portrait didn't show at the bottom) and they showed up as an NPC in the inn, but not in my party (no CTD). I decided to reload from my save. Then, I started adding and removing one or two members at a time, but never exceeding three (did this about three or four times). I still had one original member when I removed the two others and replaced them with three (four total PCs) -- this caused a CTD. Again, I realize this isn't the test you asked for, but maybe it is useful information (maybe not). If I get a chance, I'll try to do the test you requested, but it will probably be in a few days.

Hmm, I get two errors after another, and the one you took a screenshot of appears with me when I click away the first error. But the first error is the one I need. Sorry, I forgot to mention that before. Should you only see one error message, try to start toee in windowed mode. Sorry again, but could you do it one more time and post the first error?

Still, I'm rather convinced that this problem is unrelated to my efforts. So, prepare to be mailed soon, Blue.

    *edit*
Ok, the fix is out. You'll have to wait till Blue posts the link.

As I said, I couldn't change the hardcoded 5 slots in the party pool, so if you really have to remove a PC that doesn't show up in the slots, you will have to kill it via console and remove it. Everything else works fine here, just refrain from mad all party swaps without leaving the inn (but that's an original TOEE bug it seems).

i only get the one error. the other window that pops up, the one you see under the error is just a message telling me that it encountered a problem and has to shut down. standard message i get with any game that has a CTD sorry.

Hmm, that's strange. But what isn't...

That just means we will need some fix testing and feedback, right? :p
