    wouldn't it stop sumoning eg balor 1 can't summon his buddies to help kick the shit out of you or would it stop dimention door and/or blink?

    Code:
    target_item = spell.target_list[0]

    	if spell.caster.perform_touch_attack( target_item.obj ) >= 1:

    		target_item.obj.condition_add_with_args( 'sp-Dimensional Anchor', spell.id, spell.duration, 0 )
    		target_item.partsys_id = game.particles( 'sp-Dimensional Anchor', target_item.obj )
    thats the working bit of the spell

    Re: Our installation situation is a disaster

    Dimensional Anchor blocks interdimensional travel (Dimension Door, Teleport) only of the target struck by the ray. It does not prevent the target from summoning other creatures. Since there is nothing in the game that attempts to travel interdimensionally (exept maybe that one thing in Desparate Housewives, but I doubt Ted did it that way), Dimensional Anchor is for practically useless. This maybe why it was reported as broken. The only way to test if it works is to have one PC cast it on another, and then see if Dimension Door or Teleport works.

    So what's the latest here, people?

    I doesn't appear that anyone was able to test the nodes/unfogged thing, so we might as well forget that. Anything else holding us up?

    Also, is anyone actually working on fleshing out the skeletal priest scenario? If somebody (read 'Blue' ;) ) had that almost ready to ship, I think it would be a nice finishing touch to 4.0.0.

    Yeah, that's really great, given all the recent hassle around the skeletal priest. I think it's really important to come up with some kind of a background story so that D&D freaks will be satisfied (*thinking*: yeah, that includes me... ;)) :D

    NOTE: I was away for 3-4 days so I'm a little bit disoriented again... How are things going with 4.0.0? I hope I didn't miss anything important - if I did, and there's something you guys need help with, don't hesitate to ask.

    Re: Our installation situation is a disaster

    maybe something like this works...kinda sounds kool too

    1. remove terjons family heirloom from rainbow rock

    2. leave the skeletal priest exactly as it is for its fight encounter, including what it looks like - [it is magical, part illusion / part necromancy / part enchantment] it was granted to a priest of Iuz [made by Iuz] to explain how a skeleton can cast spells. When the skeletal priest is killed, it drops some item.
    [EDIT] * For those people who say, "Well, Iuz cannot cast illusions...Iuz goes to some powerful entity who can cast illusions and says to that entity and its followers something like...you owe me for your power and place here - now do such and such or you'll lose your precious standing [what I've given I can also take away].

    3. the party takes the dropped item to Terjon and enquires about the dropped item...Terjon starts a tale about his father having done something which really ticked off a priest of Iuz in a major way. Terjon mentions some basic story, but stops (he actually knows more but is cowardly to more than just mention it), he says he has no more information, except refers you to Mother Screng in Nulb (who knows about it and is not cowardly to talk about it)...when asked, Mother Screng mentions Verbobonc [use the Verbobonc map used in an opening vignette and add a building entry point there]

    4. continue talking with Mother Screng...she elaborates and gives more information [tells the entire story] plus gives the party a scroll [the scroll when used teleports the party to the Verbobonc map where the evil npc priest lives can be found and killed]...a priest about like the earth temple boss priest
    [EDIT] * Mother Screng has been preoccupied with greater ordeals and assignments than to ensure a npc evil priest gets his due and she, really, likes the idea that she can assist a party who wants to put the smackdown on that priest...finally, is able to mark that personal task off of her list of things to do.

    5. when the evil priest is killed, it drops Terjon's family heirloom which can be returned to Terjon...enter a portal and World Map to Hommlet...return the heirloom to Terjon

    Well, I gotta say the whole "I lost a family heirloom that I treasure by a rainbow coloured rock you know" thing always struck me as pretty stupid... who knows where they lost something? I mean, in the middle of a battle???

    D'oh! Thanks for reminding me, Agetian. Another thing we were waiting on was the "contact Livonya" situation. I guess we've not gotten through, as your other thread hasn't been updated, so I say we move on with 1.5. Any objections?

    Krunch's Idea sounds like a good one. It leaves Liv's mod intact, and mods the framework around it.

    :doublethu

    Maybe the two preists went man-to-man near the rock, but the battle broke it up before an outcome could be decided; and the evil guy was almost worsted & took the opportunity to flee to fight again another day. He snatched the pendant off of Terjon trying to inflict wounds or some other touch attack.

    Re: Our installation situation is a disaster

    According to dialogue with Terjon, he was not at the battle of Emridy Meadows - unless he is lieing when talking with him which could be an added twist to the tale and would build on his cowardly personality when it comes to his father and the heirloom.

    [EDIT] This would be awesome for a story background!..
    **************************************************
    Maybe he had a bad relationship with his father, he is stubborn, and, as a result, he menced bad words with his father where his father died before he could apologize. His father messed over the evil priest of Iuz. Like a year later, the evil priest plotted revenge and was able to kill Terjon's father - all before Terjon could apologize to his father. Terjon, himself, attempted to kill the evil priest, but was not able to succeed which explains alot. Now, Terjon is cowardly about the whole situation, and he really wants the evil priest to die, but is ashamed and feels little like a small person.
    **************************************************

    [EDIT] great finishing touch, Cujo!..Terjon's father (St. Cuthbert priest) was killed by an evil priest of Iuz and the Skeletal Priest was made from the remains of Terjon's father
    **************************************************
    When you kill the Skeletal Priest, what is dropped is a sealed container with evil crap in it [evil unholy mud = is a mixture of soil (from Iuz's plane) and an unknown unholy liquid]. The vile and evil unholy mud is what the party takes to Terjon [stirs his memory, scares and shames Terjon] from which you learn to talk to Mother Screng.

    Of course, you're right about that part. The whole heirloom thing is another Troika fleshing out. Are you saying the skeleton priest scared the crap out of him & he ran away? Maybe he became fallen, and has had to atone for it...perhaps by building a church & converting folks from the old faith!

    Your edit got in before my reply...but there's something to all of this for sure!

    Maybe the skeletal priest IS terjons father and terjon just knows where his father "died"

    -> Cujo: Dude, that is exactly what is needed to add on top of my storyline to make it perfect. Yes, my storyline plus your finishing touch would fully explain it completely, best and ultimately. Yah, the Skeletal Priest having been made from the remains of Terjon's father is perfect.

    also added to my post above..
