I for one don't have many problems with how someone choses to implement new material... but I think changes to the original game should be kept to the minimum, with just bug-fixes, and obvious mistakes by the designers.
:blahblah: I hate to be such a dissenter all the time, but why can't we just let this guy drift off into the sunset? Our continued interaction with him seems rather masochistic.
I have thought of any content add by any modders as content added by the Dungeon master. There is no really staying "true" to the module because each individual DM, well good ones, has always adjusted the module to 'Fit" into his settings anyways.
Agreed... as long as the original material is untouched except bug-fixes (I know no-one would dare complain if it was possible to fix the Scather/Fragerach AoO lock bug)... The real problem starts when modders get "too creative" ... like turning the moathouse into a gnoll clown college, or making Tergon into a sentient gelatinous cube, having every monster recite bad Haiku before combat, etc
Heh... that sounds like Orion79's position. As for Orion's mod itself, I think the compliance fixes should be part of the standard install. He fixes Galeb Duhr DR, which really bugged me the first time through.
I'm going to work on incorperating 0rion's FIXES to a new protos.tab after Co8 4.0 has come out - there is no way to do all that work before tomorrows deadline, besides It'll be good to have a new solid mod to base new work on again - there are too many versions of protos.tab flying around this forum at the moment and many of them (including Orion's) un-fixes other things that have been fixed before.
That might be the question, though. Which original material do you refer to, T1-4 Temple of Elemental Evil or the ToEE CRPG. There is a bunch of missing stuff from T1-4 that, for whatever reason, did not make it into ToEE.
