Early on, the game favours good. Later, when good parties can't really do all the Temple quests (and some of the Nulb ones) then the game favours evil, while for good it just becomes a dungeon crawl.
I agree. I am thinking that perhaps more quests vanquishing good could be written in/scripted for evil aligned parties, just to give more reason/ focus for those so aligned.
I think quite the contrary... The game supports more a Evil aligned party, what you talk really, it's just a problem of crafting. And that's why most creatures with damage reduction/holy have also another energy/damge type weakness. If you are evil, then you can't use holy weapons against Zuggtmoy, but she's also weak against cold. Granted, you can't use the radiant longsword (+1 holy sword), but still there's a flaming sword, the frostbrand, etc etc. Also with all the additional Co8 stuff, you don't have to worry about holy weapons. Anyway, you can always have a Neutral character in your party to handle holy things. At Hommlet arrival, even if you are chaotic evil, it's ovbious that you don't start killing people; there are defenses, and if the two resident heros where powerful enough to kill a dragon, then you'll be pudding for them. Evil it's not idiot. You wouldn't destroy your main place for resting/eating/buying...at least you get a better place, and being evil, that would be Nulb. And you have lots of motivations to defeat Zuggtmoy, deitys struggle a lot between them, more the evil aligned, and also, the chance of override the existing powers in the Temple, and take command of them (included Zuggtmoy ) or join their forces, seems reasonable.
I agree with you, but the two purposes of evil are either destroying Fragarach or killing Terjon. Thats it. There are no other (that could be added) targets to go after. Lets look at this: If you get the Butcher of Hommlet rep, do you not think the soldiers of Veluna would come to quell the evil? So how about an encounter with the soldiers who are out to set the evil right? Would make any evil party look over its shoulder (make this a random, mandidtory encounter). Good or evil if the temple is being razed, sally parties would be sent out to kill the intruders and prevent further loss to the temple. Simply, parties of NPCs, like the one in the Rannos and Gremag revenge, could be made and used to purpose, and could be made hard or very hard depending on PC level. Parties can be evil or good, depending on the foes. Given what I have seen, this should be easy to implement and would add extra danger to a natural progression of success.
you can also join and take over the temple of elemental evil or once you get to a high enough level then you can start to kill everyone. btw I'm glad you think its so easy to implement, the next step is for you to download the modding tools and start modding
Seeing that I have this week off since my father passed away on Saturday I will use the time to my advantage. I cannot write code yet, but as an inventor the first step is the idea, and creating characters is a lot easier than writing in script that can affect the whole game.
I agree. I suppose my point is it seems the game is more good SPECIFIC, rather than anything specific for evil.
