'Null' for Damage?

    Save the Bless for a healing, use bardic muic or whatever. What i meant is that cheap, low level buffing/debuffing is more useful than straigth damaging spells, as well as grease or web like spells.

    If you have enough levels you could try Acid arrow combined with True Strike if you have enough lvls.
    Also, at low levels, a Druid is much more damaging than a wiz, and you could summon a ton of critters to flank the giant. Buff the critters with your Bard or Cleric, even the Druid.

    In fact, there are a lot of options to take out the giant, other than just run straigth to him and try to hit him. Heck, you could even lead him to the rainbow rock, and get some "help" from the skeletons and priest (better if you have an evil cleric)

    Its a great fight at low level.

    I'll throw in 'Ray of Enfeeblement' - a sorcerer with a bunch of those can give you a chance of surviving a swipe from the giant, or of it missing.
