I think tattoos should stay with Screng, and I don't see the need for making Mona a shopkeeper. Fortune telling is enough.
Sounds good. But Ted has a point, Screng is powerful enough to do magical tattoos. Give her miscelaneous stuff. Could be cool if she were the opposite of Screngg (without being her enemy)...the cure poison potion, the poison potion, poisoned dagger, vest of escape...that kind of cuestionable stuff that a do-gooder wouldn't sell. Kinda Skole, but more specific. There's a ton of stuff to sell that isn't available in the game...
That's actually sort of what I'd like to avoid. There are already instances of shopkeepers having unexpectedly powerful items for sale, so I'd like to have it so that she just has regular old boring stuff for a change. Stuff you might use - an outfit that catches your eye, a windfall bull's strength potion, a masterwork mandolin - but not another +50 item of uberness that shouldn't be found in a dump town like Nulb anyway (not that you suggested that). Not every merchant has to have some diamond in the rough hidden in their inventory, and Mona seems like the kind who wouldn't anyway imo. I believe that's a case where the Screng voice gets substituted for Y'Dey or vice-versa.
Meh, fair enough. Her inventory might still be a good place to drop an easter egg, assuming a proper one could be found. I still think randomizing her inventory (the whole thing) each playthrough, if possible, would be good, though.
A lower-level, not rich person like Mona wouldn't have a large, expensive inventory like a rich wizard(Burne). A purple noble dress, yeah, a wand of fireball, no way. She is a poor, nearly broke gypsy woman stuck in a rundown, hole-in-the-wall village filled with whores and pirates. Not a lot in the way of exotic expectations available there.
How about a different tattoo, red maybe, that increases a couple of "gypsy" things +2? And have it take up a different inventory slot, instead of armor. It could look like the tan gloves with some red marks, or bracers.
Okay, Serena and Riana ended up being something of a no-brainer. (When in doubt, read their dilaogue files.) If you buy Serena's freedom and let her go, she says she's going to help Mona regain her business "on her own terms," so those of you who mentioned this already were right. Serena will be going to Mona's shop now if dismissed. Similarly, since Riana and Serena have been looking for each other for years and don't want to separate, Riana will join Serena and Mona at the shop.
Well, it will have very little gameplay impact, that's for sure. But the idea is to improve upon realism/immersiveness. Even if no one ever buys anything from her, the game is still slightly richer for the fact that she has a shop. Something happened as a result of your actions.
I agree with this. It would be normal, logical progression for those three, give the right set of events.
