 guess I've just been desensitized by PS:T. Does it really bother you?

And just out of curiousity, is there anyone else who also played PS:T that finds the zombie out of place?

Well, I loved Planescape: Torment. Great game. No other RPG with writing on the same level since, with the possible exception of Morrowind.

I like this mod; it makes short work of what were some pretty tedious bits of hanging in Hommlet and Nulb.

Still, I'd also prefer the Nulb signpost be either a pirate, a non-animated corpse, or a sign. The citizens of Nulb are mainly criminals or service providers to criminals, but there isn't a single Wizard or Cleric among them (save Mother Screng, a disguised good guy). They're not going to be happy with a zombie wandering around.

Maybe the zombie does not fit in Nulb,
but I remember playing Torment and
laughing my ass off when I saw it the
signpost zombie there. :) Great pun
    Sitra. :)

I'm sure it's a great little bit of jest for folks who love PS:T. I personally think the best thing about that game was the trailer that came with something else I was playing at the time. I found it PS:T to be rather tedious.

As for this, if it bothers me or not is irrelevant; but all the feedback thus far has been pointing out that it doesn't quite fit. I just happen to be more to the point of saying so. No need for more...Re-read what everyone's said & you'll see. The sign post itself is a good idea; we get the joke, but the zombie needs replaced.

    Re: The Nulb Crash Thread

I personally haven't had a CTD in Nulb (apart from when Preston Wetz was somehow turned into a door) and the zombie signpost seems to work ok, but the idea of being teleported about town by a talking zombie seems extreemly amatureish compared to Sitra Achara's Hommlet post, we can do better, and the many satisfied players of our mods deserve better.

The Zombie was a tribute to Planescape Torment... even though
it's cool... it sort of out of place in Nulb... despite it being a run
    down village. ;)

I didn't find the zombie that out of place at all. The undead a reasonably prevelant throughout TOE, there are alway zombies and ghouls turning up. And seeing that Nulb seems to have a reasonably evil feel to it, I thought it sort of fitted.

Well, that made two of you. Sorry, but Allyx destroying it was the right way to go.

    Re: The Nulb Crash Thread

Perhaps...if your city is Erelhei-Cinlu. But, since it's Nulb, it DOESN'T  FIT. The vast majority of people in Nulb are not outright evil. That's for the Pirates & their allies & friends. Nulb folk are mostly neutral, with a few evil types in the mix (merchants, etc.) who provide service to their shady patrons. These more normal people would regard any undead creature purely as an affront to nature; and an abomination deserving of destruction. They for damn sure wouldn't want a zombie signpost! An angry mob would form & burn it into oblivion.

Absolutely correct! I should say That I like the concept of the shortcut to different areas. It doesn't have to be a zombie.

and on that note has anyone seen what happens when you walk into a tavern in nulb with a horde of undead followers - "grab your torch and pitch fork"

    Re: The Nulb Crash Thread

Since I have successfully removed the signpost zombie (the NPC that transports you around is still there, in the same spot) and can't get a jpg editing program like photoshop working on the PC i'm using to mod on, perhaps one of the arty types can paint a signpost onto the Nulb day/night maps for me so I can lay the Zombie to rest so to speak?

Re: 5.0.x Cumulative Mods & Fixes (CMF) Bug Reports and Discussion Thread

Thoughts on this sign to replace the existing Zombie.... give me idea's of which way to go.. My thoughts were that at one time things were "better" in Nulb and they might have invested the time and effort into a proper sign... edge borders will be removed in final..

@Ax Thrower, I like the angle of the sign, though the outlines should be non existant, not just the outside edges, but the others too, subtle differences in shade should be sufficient to give the impression of depth, and outlines make it look less realistic and more cartoonish than it should be, the scale is about right though. :)

It's much better than my effort already. ;)

I'll be removing all lines and applying the shading for the effect in the final version. what I need to know is if this direction is good or do we want to go to something more simplistic. I have already reassembled the maps and it is a minor thing to drop them in there.
