    Ok here is my 2 cents. I think that the game should be kept tasteful as well as exciting, adding naked ladies, even though they are pretty and all, just dont belong in our game. There are kids that play this too and if they wanna see that kinda stuff there are other plces. But not in the game. But hey thats me.

    It's been a part of "this" since there was a "this". People can choose to use it or not; it's up to them just like any other mod. "Kids can see it" is the worst reason to keep it out that I can think of. Kids that are "too young" (whatever that is) won't be coming here to mod their games in all likelihood; and if they are, it's pretty damn certain that they've seen tits before...and everything else besides, including how "everything" is used & abused by adults; thanks to the very internet that brought them here in the first place. I can't believe that we're discussing keeping portraits out when there are mods (created here, you may recall) freely stripping character models down to the corsets & showing boobies, anyway. Is this just because all of a sudden we know someone's purported gender that we've grown a modicum of a sense of modesty? I hope not. Make a decision; put some in there that are good PC pics (regardless of clothing status), and skip the rest of it.

    Then lock this damn thread.

    Sorry Spike I was just being objective about it, of course you are right.

    I use a few of the Royo pic's from the Steelwraith collection, 1 for Fruella and 1 for Meleny and a few other pc's. There's so many good pic's out there. Just use pwizard to get the ones you like. A large, well balanced portrait pack would be nice tho. No totally naked women.

    @Spike:

    I realize nudity has been in D&D from the beginning. My 12-year-old friends and I snickered our way through the 1st Ed Monster Manual back in the day.

    You'll notice that from 2nd Ed on, though, it was no longer in the books. D&D started aiming itself at a people younger than college age and the books and themes adjusted accordingly.

    Yes, if kids know how to DL and install our mods, they probably already know how to find porn on the internet. It's not exactly rocket science. However, I'd hate for parents to not want to install our mods because it would then mean they couldn't play the game with their kids around or would have to make sure they locked up the game CD (provided they're not using the hack) so the kid couldn't play the game when they're not around.

    The Co8 mods make ToEE a whole lot more enjoyable than what someone using the vanilla patches will experience. I'd hate for people to pass up on them because (whether I agree with their opinion or not) some of the content is questionable in their eyes.

    @ Kalshane...

    Read back a few posts before this was dredged back up again; you'll see if you bother to read it that I had long ago already said something about CtB picking some tasteful stuff for his portrait pack and that if people want more than that, they can learn to mod pics for themselves. This thing was decided & dead before the recent post from DaBigDawgND. I even re-iterated what I said previously in my response to him. I fail to see why you need to preach specifically to me about it. I'm sure some of the stuff created for use with subsequent editions has something someone somewhere would consider questionable. Is every single publication totally free of boobs & such? I doubt it. So, please stop trying to tell me what I should like - or say - about any of it. This isn't one of those rules things you can be a tyrant about. If people don't want to use it, they don't have to, regardless of whether or not their kids play the damned thing. Besides, wouldn't all they'd have to pass on be the portrait pack? Maybe you should be whining about the things that make the character models go about topless; or at least in their underwear.

    I wasn't trying to be a tyrant or whining. I really couldn't give half a crap about whether folks want to look at pixilated boobies or not. I was simply responding to you scoffing at the idea of kids seeing them being a concern.

    I do apologize for misinterpreting the intention of your post, however.

    And to answer your question, no, nothing published by TSR or WotC since after 1st edition has depicted nudity. I can't speak for third party publications. In the US, anything that did would have to be labled as "mature" or else someone would blow a gasket and sue the publisher. And even then there could be problems. (See the case about the comic shop owner who got arrested for selling an adults only comic to an adult.)

    And yet you've posted about all this crap yet again...

    Of course not. It's got more to do with you not wanting to lose a point to someone in a debate.

    You really should read more carefully. What I was scoffing at was the idea that the "kids" who come here, play this game, & play D&D haven't seen them already.

    No you don't. You're only sorry it wasn't a rules thing you could try and slam me on.

    Dubious; As I said, there's bound to be something somewhere that offends someone. I'm just not willing to buy any of their books to prove it. Besides, TSR/WotC aren't the end-all-be-all of the fantasy genre either, now, are they? You still haven't answered (not that I want you to...this is rhetorical) on the "underwear" mods supplied by this very site. For that matter, the :jerkin: :blowme: :finger: & :pelvicthr icons are pretty explicit & no one cares if the kids coming here see them...

    I read Dork Tower, too. You'll have to do better than that, Mr. Intellect. My opinion is simply that - you don't have to like it, but stop trying to prove you're superior to me or anyone else because yours is different & you think it has some basis in your own supposed moral superiority.

    Can we get this thing locked YET?!?!

    No offense Ted, and Spike, but this is my thread, as as I am a moderator, I will lock it if and when I see fit.

    None taken. I was only asking...repeatedly. Thanks for finally doing something to stop the "senseless bickering". I'm sure this will get deleted, too.

    Okay, I've moved all the new portrait submission type posts to a new thread, undeleted all the bickering posts, and left the thread unlocked. I officially declare this thread no longer mine, and will not have anything more to do with it. Flame on my brothers.

    @Spike

    You seem to think I'm trying to pick a fight when I'm very much not. I'm going to leave it at that because you apparently want to see anything I say as being antagonistic, including my attempts at apologies.
