Thank you all for your input. Based on it I have decided that those portraits will not go in, but instead will include the ones submitted by Maggit. Thank you Maggit. If you have any other portraits you would like to submit, PM me first and I will tell you the proper format for them. This lot I will convert myself.

dadgummed :blahblah: *sigh* I was about to suggest.. *laugh*

@blue: So, I take it those portraits won't be made to be an checkbox install item option when the Co8 MOD is installed and not be a selectable option in ToEEFE?

No. They will remain just as they are now, a bunch of portraits posted in the Voice and Portrait Pack thread with no portrait.mes file to go with them. If anybody wants them (meaning you Krunch) they can do the work themselves to make them usable in the game. And just so you know, I have not tested any of them in the game yet.

On a side note, I really appreciate everybody's links to art sources for portraits. If any of you care to make said art into portraits for the game, I will be more than willing to share with you the proper format. I am not going to turn said art into portraits myself though.

I love Elmore's old-school work. Not so much his new stuff. It seems a lot more generic and lifeless. It used to be you could look at a picture of his and immediately tell it was his work, even without the signature. Nowadays it blends in with all the other generic fantasy art.

I know the issue is done, bit I won't ever pass up a chance to put it my two cents :p

Personally, I wouldn't include the nudie portraits, but not for reasons you may think. I'm not really offended by the nudity and I am not one of those girls who rants on about "the objectification of women" and all that stuff; it comes more from an objective and rational point of view: (while you might want a few scantily clad ones for arcane spellcasters) Most adventuring women are not going to be running around in the buff. So, pretty much what everyone else has said :p. Of course we want our characters to be good-looking, but there is a point where art becomes nerd porn.

Wow. This guy looks like he knows his way around the biz. One of those pictures is for one of R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms novels. And there's some Everquest. Probably even some stuff in there I don't even know about that I should. =p

He had a heart attack or a stroke or something a few years back, and it seems to have really hurt his technique.

The game has a brothel. And bestiality.

I think a bit of nudity would not be too out of keeping to be honest.

    +1 for nerd porn :aaaa:

larry use to do alot of the artwork for TSR and you can find his stuff in the original books. Caldwell and Parkinson were also used alot and ive used a few of Caldwell's pics for avatars before, never cared for Parkinsons work. Larry also did alot of the art for Dragonlance.

i agree with you kalshane that his new stuff isnt as good as the older stuff and its the older stuff i prefer to use.

That's sad to hear and certainly explains it. His old Dragonlance stuff is some of my favorite fantasy art.

They all look good to me. I'll include as many of them as I can. I still haven't figured out how many we can put in there, so we shall see.
