There are no buds because they were out of the frame. LOL Glad you like it. I'm going to post the newest stuff here as always, so don't worry.
Hi, there's no mix yet but we've got a short teaser. http://media.putfile.com/In-Vain---Studio-Teaser
Yup, that was me. The funny thing was I didn't even know that I was being recorded (on the cam of course). My brother told me about this vid after he received a pack of photos from our cousin. Too bad it's only 15 secs but be patient, there'll be much more. EDIT: My friend told me that the video was buffering really slowly, so if some of you waited for it to see just 15 seconds, then I apologize. Some of you might have taken it for some silly prank. It wasn't. I'm really sorry about that.
And there it is! Check out our myspace to listen to the song we recorded. http://www.myspace.com/invaingk Or, download it from here, it's a 320kpbs mp3, so it weights a little but I hope it's worth it. http://rapidshare.com/files/159913056/In_Vain_-_The_Price_of_Separation.mp3
Awesome tune! Reminiscent of "mood setting, creepy, cold shivers down spine" background music, something you'd find in Doom 3. Take that a compliment! This stuff would sound great cranked from any car! You got one hell of a band there!! The fact that your music is instrumental, rather then vocal, lends to your band's wonderful uniqueness!!
I liked one background piece in particular - the weird semi-chanting short-looped one that first played when the Mars base initially went into the shitter. It was actually quite disturbing to me. :nervous: I must say that Maggit's new studio tune is a vast improvement over the live lo-fi stuff (not surprisingly). Just goes to show what the right tools can do. The band was inside there all along, waiting to get out. Good stuff.
Hey, it's me again. With a little bit of news. We've decided to change our name because we got a bit of negative response from the fans of another band named In Vain (apparently they were named like that before us and already have a studio album), so we had to change it. Besides we wanted to have our own, unique name... so here it is: mindedge, a compound of two words, mind and edge, meaning that we're on the edge of our minds when we make our music (or on the verge of insanity if you prefer it that way).
Dunno.... IMHO, Mind's Edge sounds better and would get your band's name's point (message?) across better. Unless there's another band with that name out there WITH a studio album. Then again, what are the chances of that happening? Wait... don't answer that!!
Actually, I was for the option Mind's Edge (which, I agree, sounds WAY better) but the rest of the band was like: "come on, it looks so cool as a compound!" So I had no choice. Hmm.... that gives me an idea... Remember how the surname Luxury Yacht was supposed to be read in Monty Python's Flying Circus? Look at it as a stylistic nuance, or as the R in KoRn, or the Led in Led Zepplin. I'll persist calling us Mind's Edge, but writing Mindedge. I really will.
@GA, I'm not sure what you mean... Did they have the same problems? Damn! You're brilliant Emirkol! We'll name ourselves mindSedge! As simple as that, the best compromise between mind's edge and mindedge.
A real band from the '60's. Sort of a psychodelic / early heavy metal band. Their hit was "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night" in 1966. I've always loved the song and the name of the band. I think they broke up when they...worked out their problems. :yikes: mindSedge sounds like a cool name. But isn't everyone going to wonder what "Sedge" is? Or do you WANT them to? Clever.
