It's all about the balance Ted, and being one with nature. In the D&D universe there is more balance in clear cutting a forest than there is in mining iron ore, and it is easier to be one with nature whilst wearing the skins of slaughtered animals.

Druidical balance includes several things...too many trees [overgrowth] and cutting some trees down of which helps prevent the spread of wildfires. Living off of the land is using what nature provides that lives on the land [animals, trees, bushes, plants, herbs].

Footnote: There is also a druidical order named, of all things, PETA - People Eat Tastey Animals.

Blue..he just wanted a chance to use the  smiley again...but I might agree with you more if we're talking about strip mining or something; and I don't see how we possibly could be. Now orcs mining...yeah.

    BTW, Meat is murder.

And I do a little every day.

Dude, I'm with Ted on that one--imagine the profits! Have you SEEN what that stuff sells for a POUND (see DMG "special materials" section for details)?! How many pounds does a decent tree weigh, 2000-4000?...

    *kaching-kaching* :eyebrow:

With the Co8-4.0.0 mod, Ah Fong can be found in Nulb, there is a thread somewhere that contains a map to the exact location somewhere.

As a long time druid player and environmentalist I found all of the above completely tasteless and utterly hilarious. Keep up the good work!

And how do you know that darkwood isn't a shrub?

Deklowood shields? No, Darkwood shields? Yes. Ah Fong sells them, and they may be available from other merchants too ;)
