wonnilon still levels up as an npc (not pc) I'm using the moebius and CO8 3.0.4 fixes, and the 'level up as pc' mod is not working for at least one npc (wonnilon). It does work for the other npc's I've tried: Zaxis, Fruella, Spugnoir, Morgan and Wicked. Not sure if this is relevant but hope it helps Wonnilon
I believe that Co8 patch 3.0.4 and moebius' fixes incorporate NPC's leveling up as PC's. If I wanted to change this I take it I would need to download a text editor and modify the levelup.tab file as eluded to by zhuge two posts up. Or is it different than for the levelup zips available for download in this post? Thanks.
please DON'T use a text editor but only the protos editor available in the Co8 forum. Editing game files with something different proved my game to crash (and probably I am not the only one in the univers that may have this problem), so please just don't.
you can use a text editor, you just have to know exactly what to do cos if you make a mistake... its just harder to make a mistake with a proto editer altho ive done that as well
is the level up as a pc included.. as part of the teds 1.20 for toeefe??? here again is an expample of why we need to stream line
Well, can u click on NPCs and choose their spells / skills / feats for them at lvl time? I'd say its a 'yes'.
As far as I know, bradrinwi, every mod or fix Co8 has to offer is in the Toffee Pro version of Ted's 1.2.0 EXCEPT drifter's Humble NPCs and Max HP, and Morpheus' Arena of Hero's Mod, which is unfinished. I am afraid that careful release notes of what is included in what sort of went out of vogue after the last Co8 release and Liv's mod, so it has been increasingly difficult to keep track things. We are attempting to fix this, but I'm fearful that we may never regain the level of accuracy in release notes that this body had in the past.
oint: I blame Ted,.. and Lord Spike,.. and Allyx,.. and everyone else but me cos I'm always right. Nah just kidding, I think that because there wern't 56000 different mods until every Ted, Allyx and Cujo jumped on the band wagon and made their own on top of livs and the offical Co8 stuff, and then mixed it all together - my mod was made on top of Co8 3ish, Livs and Allyxs fix, then Ted build my mod into his along with darmagons spells and a few of drifters fixes . I don't think that the whole thing is to bad. just fragmented a little atm.
Easy for you to say. Your not the one who has to get it all straightened out for the next Co8 release. :writersbl
Ted and others this points out exactly why the streamlining and codifiying and mKING COHERENT fAN FIXES.. ARE SO IMPORTANT.. i based on inside info.. bought but held off playing toee until recently.. i ran it about 15 times and spent more time reboting from CTDs and such than actually getting anywhere.. I was lucky if i got to the town of homlett let alone actually get a n npc or have one lvl.. so id no idea what it was like before the patches... then i went from nothing to the whole teds for toeefe..package.. which works a treat..i must say..but because i wasnt arond for the middle debvelopment stages.. I didnt have enough of a wokring and playable game to expereince pre fixes for npcs.. or many of the other mods.. however the fact that i went from a almost totally unplayable game to one im starting to mod for.. and enjoy playing.. says alot about the effort .. but it also...indicates how dramatic the changes youve all made are and the need to keep some sort of coherent includes list.. most of my mod install time before toeefe ready packs was trying to figure out what had what....in it.. anyways good job.
The "Make NPC's level like PC's" feature can easily be made optional (in fact, I did so when I made the installer for Liv's 1.51 mod). It only requires including two version of levelup.tab, which doesn't take too much space really.
