Livonia's Mod Bug Report: Manage to do the Target of Revenge quest twice when killing Ranmos and letting Greemag escape. This time, I decided to see what would happen if I let both escape. Followed the same pattern as always.

The answer is that the game briefly hangs as I enter the purchased house; after a minute or so it clears up, but there are no enemies in sight.

Any thoughts on a fix appreciated.

EDIT: This did not repeat when I re-played on a fresh install; both traders were there as they should have been.

Four times now i've tried 1.5.1 and evertime strange things happen and the game locks up and only power down resets it. This time I couldn't get past the trap in level 4. Maybe if I had a 9/10 level pc rogue to disarm it. My rogue is Serena and a npc can't see in the chest. Finally got mad and used the console to teleport to the air node, took out the Vrock and went out that way. The rest of the fight with Hedrack was the same only from the side entrance. Fight awhile, Iuz shows up, fight some more, St.Cuthberth shows up, argue, fight some more, end of story for Hedrack. There's a blue face with a white T on it in slot 2 of the initative bar that slowed the game down. Go to loot, games locks up. No f9, no esc, no ctl-alt-del. Power down and quit. I'm back to fan fix and temple.dll with Drifters patch now. I might figure it out someday.

I had that problem from icorrectly deleting the files in the Modules/ToEE/Maps folder. When I made sure to place Liv's new maps there as my last step, and then started a new game, the kids were back.

    Hi!

1: The protection from evil is not work. I cast it my paladin, and the zombie's (evil) attack it normal (no +2 AC). Why?

2: The magic stones spell. I cast the spell to 1 zombie. I hit, and damage, but only one attack. The spell add 3 magic stone in 3.5. Where is my two magic stone?

THX, and sorry my english :blank:

I may SUPPOSE that, if the game consider them as throwing weapons, you may need the quick draw feat, but it is only an hypothesys.
Another one is that you'll gain extra stones while leveling up.
    Anyway, some other bug:
-Break enchantment dispells friendly spells on PCs including the ones that are NOT included in the affected spells list.
-Balor's fear effect icon is showed even on members that made s sucesfull saving throw.
    - Remove Fear spell does not provide the +4 bonus against fear.

I've been searching but can't find the multiple Juggernaut fix. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Never mind, I found it, and thank the maker I did, last attempt saw 10 of the ugly brutes appear. For anyone else looking, try the search function of the site, it beats scanning through threads looking for stuff! Also, this is the link

But the protection of evil spell is very good in RPG. The game is more difficult without them. :(

    Hi there Livonya,

I think there may be a bug with Hedracks dialogue. I got Kelno (air temple) to take me to see Hedrack but his dialogue stated that it was Alrem (fire temple) who had taken me. I posted this in another thread and Shiningted said....
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Liv has specifically added scripting in Hedrack's file (00174) to deal with this. Either you haven't installed it properly or its not working.

Time for u to do some bugtesting for the good of humanity! Go to Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil\data\scr and open file py000174Hedrack.py (NOT .pyc if it is there). It will open in Notepad. Does it have a bunch of stuff that says "## added by Livonya"? Specifically, the section
    Quote:
    obj.begin_dialog( attachee, 30 )
    elif ( game.quests[45].state == qs_completed ):
    obj.turn_towards(attachee)

This was added to make the Kenso dialogue werk. If it is not there, you have not installed Liv's thing properly.

Well, I checked py00174hedrack.py and it was all there and still seems not to be working, so unless I've done something else wrong....? I am using patches 1 and 2, temple.zip and Liv 1.5.1

    Hope this helps.

Hello! I wanted to respond to this thread for my appreciation of the hard work put into the patch and for the mods created to make the game more playable. This is my second attempt with the game, so I'll list my observations now and again after completing major portions of the game.

First off, I installed the game fresh from the 2 CD's, then patched with the TOEE_USA_ANY-Patch2, then applied the Toee_fan_fixes_V3.0.4, then applied the Livonya's beta 1.5.1 patch as per the instructions supplied. I actually hit a snag while doing that last part. When I went to paste in the Maps folder contents, I discovered that there was no Maps folder in my directory of Temple of Elemental Evil/modules/Toee/maps.... so I slugged it that spot regardless and continued on. I also applied the dlg file fixes listed for lareth and rufus and gremag that were contained within this thread. I then fired up the game and turned off the auto save before even making the characters and starting play.

So far all works fine except... No kids. I read within the body of this thread that children were added towards the start of the game, and it just looks like it normally would - none are around. If someone has some insight as to what is up, I'd appreciate it.

I'm going to continue playing and not look up any spoilers from this site or others and just go everywhere and look for everything I can find. Thanks again.

Edit - Hah! Okay, after firing up the game I didn't go back and check to see if a whole lot of "gibberish" name files were created in the Maps folder. There were a ton there, just like the instructions indicated. I deleted them all (the gibberish named ones) and fired up the game again from my saved game. Still no kids... but I exited out of the game, and lo and behold, the exact same plethora of oddly named map files had returned. Strange.

...I had that problem of no kids, I found that I was because I hadn't started the game before patching, so I hope you're not to far in cos I recommend the fresh install and run ToEE before patching (I used patch 1 as well, and ran ToEE between each patch and the first time I ran it I started a TN game but exited straight away, don't know how much was overkill but it goes good now)... and deleted the strange map files

Hm. Okay, thanks for the heads up, Cujo. I'll give that a try. I'll uninstall everything, delete the Atari folder altogether, then do a fresh install of just the game. Then I'll create characters, change my options with auto-save off and... Hm. Try what you said. I'll edit this post with the results after seeing what happens.

Edit - Well, here are the results after trying your suggestion. I uninstalled the game using the Windows uninstaller from my control panel. I then deleted the Atari folder just to be certain it was all gone. Then...

    1) Installed game from CD's. Started game up. Quit game once at option screen.
    2) Patched the TOEE_USA_Any_Patch-2. Started game up. Quit game once at option screen.
    3) Patched with the 3.0.4 temple patch. Started game up. Quit game once at option screen.
    4) Installed the 1.5.1 patch contents into their proper areas completely. This time I DID find a Maps folder, so yeah, by not starting up the game it was never created before hand. Since I did start up the game between patches, there it was. All of the gibberish files were there (128 of them I believe). Deleted them all. Inserted the Map folders from the 1.5.1 patch. Started game up. Quit game once at option screen.
    5) Checked Map folder contents again. Lo and behold, all 128 gibberish files were there again, loose within the folder. They are created each and every time I start up the game it looks like.

Any advice for me at this point? Thanks.

Edit again - thanks for the advice. There ARE supposed to be some gibberish files after the game start? hmmm... Okay, I'll delete them once more, and actually start the game and get to the opening of hommlet's entrance.

I think the gibberish files in the maps is a kinda cache, so there'll be a new set of gibberish files but these are the ones that are sposed to be there. Have you started a new game to see if Kent is there, I recomend LN LE or TN as they don't take long before you get to hommlet. If Kent is there then its all working fine.

It worked. Thanks again for your replies and help.

    1) Installed game. Fired game up. Quit at options after turning auto save off.
    2) Installed the Atari patch 2. Fired game up. Quit at options screen.
    3) Installed 3.0.4 patch. Fired game up. Quit at options screen.
    4) Installed 1.0.5 patch. Deleted gibberish map files in map folder. Fired game up. Made characters. Entered into the introductory setting. Saved game. Exited.
    5) Deleted gibberish map files in map folder. Fired game up. Completed introductory setting. Entered Homlet. Kent was there to speak with me.

New gibberish files *are* there in the Map folder. But even with their presence, I was able to get and keep Kent and the children within Homlet.

I can hardly wait to see all of the changes that went into the patch. This looks to be like a good deal of fun indeed!
