Thankies. It wasn't such a bad fight...lost 2 party members, though. It just took so long. I only had to fight her once...blessings for that.

    Oh....no. I don't. Won't go there. Nice try, GA82.

I play people, GA82. People are my thing.

(Stifles first 27 comments that run through his mind.)

Actually the question was kind of an innocent one. But, let me assure you I corrected that NOW. :eyebrow:

I'ono... I hate bards. I used a bard once, and he ended up being more or less useless, I'd rather have an extra wizard or sorcerer. Not to mention how anoying bards can get =))

I have to back Scryler up on the bard thing. I almost always have a bard in my party. They play the face role very well, leaving your rogue (PC or NPC) free to focus on the mundane rogue skills like lock picking. 'Inspire Courage' is a nice party buff and you can keep it 'on' until you cast a spell or use another bard music ability. So, no need for your cleric (if you have one) to mess around with the 'Bless' spell. The bard fights as well as a cleric and gets to use some decent weapons (e.g., Longsword, Short Bow). Their armor choice is slightly limited, but it's not so bad with a good Dex score. Bards are certainly in better shape than wizards or sorcerers from the weapons and armor standpoint. The bard gets the option of selecting some, I think, very useful wizard spells at earlier levels than even a wizard would (e.g., Tasha's Hideous Laughter, Heroism). And you can choose healing spells to make the bard a nice backup healer to your cleric or druid.

I usually use bards, too. If I roll ridiculously high set of stats, I usually waste them on a bard. I prefer half-elf, though human or elf is good, too. What I'm still working on is what to dual-class them with.

Another choice for a good face "man" is a rogue. But you lose the spells. I often dual this rogue as a bard, though I neglect the usual rogue skills.

Well, I just feel like bard is a bit too "all-round" for me.

Anyway, I'm trying to do a bizarre two-man party now, ranger+bard, let's see how it works.

I am a type of 'performer.' But I do not play a musical instrument. And love...sigh. Love is berefit in this house. This house only knows false alarms. Hot fire drills and the like.

Why do you think I play the game?

KotB is not tough - just a little different. And use a bard by all means :)

I don't m/c my bard. I m/c my rogue. Since I like sorcerers, I m/c the rogue as a wiz, generally at level 4. The party I was using was a pally, bard, rogue/wiz, cleric and sorcerer. I added Meleny, much against my personal preference and upped her strength so she could at least carry some potions and wands, Elmo (love Elmo) and Otis.

OK Ted. I'm going to try your mod. Might as well get something new going.

Why do all the girls like the "rock-star" types? :poke:

    Oh. Wow.

That one hits home. Know all too well what that's like.

While you may not have found "love" here on Co8, you've managed to gain some great "misfits" for friends. And I'm honored to count myself amongst them.

You got lots of shoulders here, dear one.

If it isn't one you've created, then, yes, I'd agree with you. Very annoying. Except for his voice...which is sort of nice...Zaxis is an idiot. I guess I like idiots, too, though. I added Zaxis to one of the parties early on. I didn't keep him, though. I like my own, better.
