I think I picked the wrong dialog option the first time, no worries. I've been distracted this weekend, but will get back to it shortly.

    Ok, that didn't work (spoilers):
Upon entering the Bailiff's tower, my only two options are fight or leave. I had thought there was an option of "I need to see the Bailiff", but it seems I'm wrong. Fighting up through the tower will get you up to the battlement, but you can't come back down (the door on the upper level seems to be inaccessible from the wall. I might have seen the Bailiff somewhere else (the tavern, or one of the houses [yep, tavern, see below]), and will check there next.

    And neither did this:
I found the Bailiff, and he gave me his ring so I didn't have to fight the tower guards, but I still can't get down from the battlement...

Looks like you found it :)
The inaccessible door is indeed a bug, reported above (last minute change...), but you can get down via the world map.

Note that how you handle the situation has some potential ramifications.

Ah, the world map! I hadn't thought of that, thanks! Good thing I saved prior to the engagement....

There's a graphics glitch on the inn interior map (where the mouse pointer is in the screenshot below).

The Boba Fett portrait showed up in the Survival interface during a random encounter (see screnshot below). I haven't seen the Boba Fett portrait ever again since then.

    Updated in 1.0.1

One time, when I was scrolling around the left edge of the Outer Bailey map (where the marketplace is), I experienced a graphics glitch (see screenshot below). But it went away after scrolling around the map a bit more. I haven't experienced the graphics glitch ever again since then.

At night, inside the Trader's building, the Trader stands right next to the door exit, which makes it difficult for a PC to activate the door portal in order to exit the building. I recommend positioning the Trader's night-time position further away from the door portal.

    Updated in 1.0.1

Billy (Tracker) first showed up on the battlement at night. There are 3 Watchmen firing crossbows at him (at night). I didn't notice Billy and the Watchmen were there at night. After I rested in the inn until day-time, when I came out of the inn, I saw 4 Watchmen firing crossbows at nobody. In other words, Billy the Tracker wasn't there during the day. I moved my party over to the 4 Watchmen, which caused combat music to start. Then I went into the Bailiff's Tower, talked to the Bailiff who told me to deal with Billy, went up to the battlement, but I couldn't deal with Billy because Billy wasn't there.

So I loaded my saved game where my party had just arrived at the Keep at night. I went into the pub, talked to the Bailiff who gave me Bailiff's Ring and told me to deal with Billy, went into the Bailiff's Tower, but the guards inside offer me the choice to either start a fight with them or leave immediately. So I can't complete the Billy scenario at night.

What I'm going to do is load my old saved game before I arrived at the Keep and first saw Billy, then make sure that my party arrives at the Keep during the day (when I first see Billy up on the battlement), and hopefully this will allow me to complete the Billy the Tracker scenario.

Edit: I arrived at the Keep during day-time, and Billy was there, and I managed to complete the Billy scenario.

Some of these may be intentional and not actual bugs, and some are trivial to the point of not really worth mentioning, but here is a small list of oddities I've run across so far.

    1. The 4 watchmen under attack are firing at no one that I can see, and upon getting up onto the wall I see no one there either (except a guy named Reynard way to the north, but I don't think that's who the shooter is).

    Updated in 1.0.1

    2. The watchman tell me I have armor of a soldier of the Keep while wearing any full plate at all.

    Updated in 1.0.1

    3. Ricario sells a potion of "Enlarge Person" and "enlarge person". (one CAPS, one not)

    4. While resting in the Lizard Man swamp near the cat, the cat joined the wandering monsters in the fight. (may be unavoidable)

    Updated in 1.0.1

    5. Provisioner says the Bailif can be found in the SE corner tower, but I think he is in the SW corner tower.

    Updated in 1.0.1

    6. The catwalk with the archers in Lord Axer's place is accessible by a halfling, but not a human or dwarf.

    Updated in 1.0.1 Needs testing.

    7. The Magic Hextor shields sell for less after being identified.

    Updated in 1.0.1

    8. Entering the Provisioner's shop give a black screen for over a minute before the game resumes. The music keeps going though. :)

    Updated in 1.0.1

    9. The prisoners with the Hobgoblins attack us. I can only get them to listen by charming them.

I know it was mentioned that a separate thread would be formed for those having trouble installing/starting the game but since I figured out my particular problem I thought I'd put it here: after downloading the game to my TOEE folder I got an error message saying that a legit version of TOEE couldn't be found and to make sure Atari patch 2 was installed. I downloaded again but made sure this time to put it in the addon folder of the TOEE frontend- and it worked! I soon had the game installed but when I clicked the play button I got the same error message as before. Thinking back to any previous issues I've had starting any modpack, I clicked the 'disable intro' button- and was soon rolling up a party of stalwart adventures to enjoy this fine effort of gaming. The game did freeze up however when I clicked the Quit Game button. Just thought I'd mention this...

Didn't get that at all Sitra...

@Gehennis: thanks for that, will leave it to Gaear to respond when he gets back as I am not up-to-date on TFE-X and install issues.
Not a bug - two different effects :)
Forgot to turn the cats off for the final release, sorry.
If by 'SE' you mean bottom right (a la the Hommlet world map, and common sense) then yes, that's the Bailiff's tower. The bottom left one near the market place is the Captain's tower.
Added to bug tracker, but I'm glad to hear it (even if it was unintentional). I love the idea of a quest that can only be completed by a Halfling or a reduced person.
That's a bug, thought I had fixed that
There's a lot of scripting in place to prevent that, but we can't make it bullet-proof, and I don't think that's such a bad thing. Scared prisoners in the middle of a fight with unknown assailants are going to lash out some of the time. Beating them unconscious is always an option: but when it works, they should leave combat if the Hobgob guards are killed and the PCs are on the other side of the guards (or something).

    More to come :)

I presume that Sitra Achara was pointing out that the player's party can murder Porteous, the Innkeeper, the Animal Seller, and Bethany without any of the soldiers at the Keep reacting to the murders or arresting the player's party as murder suspects.

Sitra Achara, attached below is my saved game as you requested. If you load my saved game and then travel immediately to the Keep, you will arrive at the Keep at night and Billy will appear up on the battlement for the first time in my game. The reasons why the player can't complete the Billy scenario if Billy first appears in the player's game at night are because the guard inside the Bailiff's Tower won't let the player's party through at night (even when the player's character has the Bailiff's Signet Ring), and also because Billy disappears from the battlement when the night-to-day transition occurs.

If this is intentional please ignore/remove this post.

Heggrim won't deal with my low intelligence characters. Should the {8} be {1} in those lines?

    Code:
    {102}{I'd like to buy something.}{}{8}{is_daytime() == 1 and npc_get(npc, 4) == 0}{190}{}
    {103}{I'd like to buy something.}{}{8}{is_daytime() != 1 and npc_get(npc, 4) == 0}{220}{}
    Updated in 1.0.1

The Tiny Rapier sold by the Thieves Guild does 1d6, and I think it should be 1d3.
Not that my duel-wielding halfling rogue is complaining. :)

    SPOILER -- SPOILER

When the Spider Queen doesn't attack you and her description says "you see intelligence in her eyes" (or something like that), that tells me there's probably a way to resolve the situation without bloodshed (and maybe an interesting subplot), but didn't find any clue, do you have to have a druid in your group or something?

Not really a bug, more like a question, thx,
    JP
