I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. Beautiful sunset tonight on the way home from work. And I saw 2 bright red Cardinals fussing over a female, all of them flying from a fence to a nearby tree and back. Zooming by, flashes of red. I hate going in neighborhoods where every eye is on you, from the kids playing in the street to the adults in the windows and the grandmas on the porches. Might as well be wearing a big sign "I don't live here." Worst, I think are the teen girls, out walking around in groups. Their eyes don't miss a thing. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the street, The Nightly Mission: Time to switch to lighter blankets, enough to keep the a/c from icing your skin but not enough to make you sweat. Sleep deep. Wake up warm. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night!
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. Friday night for me. Yay! A thunderstorm has been trying to happen all day here. I am hoping it will not occur on my way home tonight. The phone has been ringing all night, one person after another. I am nearly talked (and listened) out. It will be nice to get home. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Life happens while you are thinking about it. So don't spend too much time on that. Review the day before falling into sleep, toss what you can, decide to correct what you can and move on. Wake up with more time to live. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. My day was not good so I avoided it by sleeping. And I am still sleepy. Tomorrow, I am going to the movies with a friend. To see The Prophet. I want to be beaten over the head with a life that hits harder than mine, I guess. Pain is a measure of one's resistance to change. My problem is that I can't decide what it is I am supposed to change. Me? Or the situation around me? Ever tried to change yourself? Good luck there. When you think about it, 'movies' sounds strange. I know, more or less vaguely, where the term comes from, but it still sounds strange. I suppose it sounds clearer than saying you are going to the theatre. Europe seems to think The Prophet is very very good. I hope so. My friend says she is going to hide her face when there are gory scenes. I am not. As long as it isn't my own, bring it on. I want to walk out afterwards feeling grateful. Ah, but I get in some pissy moods sometimes. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Just sleep. Scrap the mind clearing preparation, toss the attempt at a spiritual connection, forget sweet dreaming. Just sleep. Wake up to the weekend. May the Lady smile (and she had better get on it) on you and me too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. I saw the movie. My friend and I were the only ones in the room. We sat at the very top, in the center, which I have never done before. I think that took out some of the sting of the violence, of which there was a lot. And there was one scene that I did not watch, although my friend (who said she wouldn't watch gore) did. There were a couple of sex scenes (with a female hooker) and full front body nudity that I didn't expect, never having seen that before in a movie theatre. France must be different in that regard. How was the movie? I think the director could have tightened up parts of it. It was a 2 1/2 hr show, and some parts blitzed by, others were prolonged. Artsy? Maybe. but there were some parts that took me awhile to figure out, and 2 things that I am still trying to understand. The movie was not just in French, but apparently also in Arabic. If I understood either language, perhaps things would have been clearer. However, thanks to online chat, the subtitles didn't appear to take much (if anything) away from the movie. The reviews said the lead actor was a newcomer. He did not particularly move me, but I suppose it is difficult to portray conflict and intense feeling while keeping a stolid albeit watchful stone face. The other lead, the Corsican "boss," was powerful, putting the Godfather to shame. He has been in other movies and I think it would be difficult to play the lead role against him. I do not attend the movies often, generally going only when I think a movie needs to be seen on the big screen or sounds so good that I don't want to wait to see it. This movie did not grab my heart. Maybe we were sitting too far back. I cannot sit in the first few rows for any performance, live or otherwise, because I have no defense against the emotions being portrayed, so perhaps that was why it didn't. So now you have my unofficial review, lol. If you are into a differently themed prison movie and want to experience it in an empty room, by all means, go. And sit closer. To all who will sleep tonight (or are already) on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Be glad you are not sleeping in a real prison, even if you are in one of your own making. Wake up enjoying the relative freedom you have. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. A few friends came over today and we did the spring yard work. My back hurts. Lots of bending. But things look great! Power washed the house, the porches and the driveway. Amazing what power washing can do...everything looks brand new. The bushes are trimmed and all the weeds pulled. Now we are all waiting to see if anyone comes down with poison ivy, since there was some among the weeds. I saw a lizard on the back porch, quite a large one. So the lizards are awake. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: When your body is tired from working hard, you will sleep hard and well. And wake up the next morning with all the soreness gone. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night!
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. Nice day again today, not too hot, the birds were twittering, chirping and singing all day and the yard and house looks great. Fantastic morale booster. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Feel good...sleep well. Wake up in the light. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night!!
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. Here at work, still. There is so much pollen on the sidewalks under the trees that you can hardly tell they are cement sidewalks. Piles of it. My throat is scratchy...I am hoping that it is from the pollen and not the flu. I saw my first lizard of the season Sunday, a fairly largish one on the back porch catching the afternoon sun. It was large enough to survive the long cold winter, I guess. And I saw my first frog (maybe a toad, who knows at night) of the season tonight, hopping on one of the sidewalks, out after bugs I guess. (I know I mentioned a couple of tree frogs awhile back, but I am not counting them.) I heard a hawk cry as I was driving to work too, but I could not find out where it was. Nothing, not even the Mockingbirds when they copy the sound, can make quite the same piercing cry as a hawk. And speaking of Mockingbirds, there were many many of them last spring and summer, and very few this year. So far. They migrate, and I don't know from where either, so I wonder what happens to them when only a few show up. To all who will sleep on this side of the earth tonight, The Nightly Mission: Sleep knowing you did the best you could today, or you would have done better. Wake up with a little more insight. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. I forgot to mention that as I was leaving work last night, an owl came down out of the trees and pounced on something. I don't know if my car lights scared it off or if it would have left anyway, but it took off immediately into the trees again, and once my lights left it, I couldn't tell where. i think it was a great horned owl, and probably the one I hear hooting when I am outside. It is the time of the dark moon tonight. And I am not in my usual good space. Haven't been for the last couple of dark moons. Not since I have been getting up and going to bed earlier. I don't know what to make of that. to all who will sleep tonight on this side of the dark earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep in silence if you can so you can hear your heartbeat. Or that of someone else... Wake up with a strong heart. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. I had a post started and had to leave my computer for a work problem and got logged off, so the post got lost as well. I wonder what happens to them? That said, I am taking so long, I may lose this one, too. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Soft sounds, soft thoughts, warm ones, float you off into soothing sleep. Wake up in the morning renewed. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. Friday night. Date night. Boo hoo. I want to go dancing. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Give a few thoughts for others before sinking down into sleep... and remember that what goes around comes around. Wake up in the light. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. My friend's husband came over today and finished power washing the driveway. I babysat while he did it. I do not have toys at my house, but nonetheless he found many interesting things to look at...my crystals, my rocks, my drum among others, and admired all my candles. He also found the scissors I misplaced and have been looking for. I guess his height was the perfect eye level to find them. Water never fails to fascinate kids. I don't know why. He had a good time pouring water from one container into another on the porch (where it wouldn't hurt anything) and spilled it all over, of course. And he had a good time using my hammer to pound down a couple of nails on the porch that were sticking up a bit. Took him awhile. Many thumps. He was a little leery of my cats, particularly the big one, who was eye level with him when he sat down, and waist high when he stood up. So that was my morning. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Dream of water... see where it takes you. Wake up remembering the journey. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
