I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

    Very tough day today.

2 of the meetings, back to back, that have expanded my job,
    and very tough meetings. Draining.

And some idiot pulls out in front of me, 50 mph traffic and he's
doing 20 (if that) and doesn't even look. I see him sort of edging
forward, and I think "Oh no, surely he isn't going to pull out," and
can tell he isn't even looking, but slow down some just in case,
and sure enough out he comes. I left skid marks. I don't think
    he even knew.

I went straight to bed when I got home.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep warm and safe
    and wake up happy.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the night went well.

Terrible storm on the way home.

Wrecks everywhere, ambulances, cops, hydroplaning, standing water,
lines down and branches all over. One intersection in town had a 5
    car pileup.

In the city, they even had the street sweepers out trying to get the water off the roads. First time I've seen that.

The back highway to my house, the old road, has long stretches with no lights, and enough swales (little hills?) to make me drive very slow. Not
to speak of needing new windshield wipers.

Home and the power isn't out. Thought sure it would be.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

Be glad you are out of the storm,
and sleep well to the sound of the
    rain on the roof.

    Wake up tomorrow to sunshine.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

Oooh, those poor adjusters who now have to deal with Florida's auto insurance and claim handling regulations.

Not to mention the Florida Department of Insurance. :twitch:

Or the "No-Fault" law. :twitch: :twitch: :thumbsdow

I hope you had a good day and that the night is exciting and wonderful!

I forgot to mention that, way before the storm hit, when the sun
was setting but it was still light out, I heard one of the owls hooting.
I assume it was a hunting hoot. Perhaps he or she knew the storm
was coming and wanted to get a'hunting while hunting was possible.
Birds should know such things, right?

I had a keylogger on my computer. So now I am going to have to change all my passwords. Lovely.

Other than that, today has been mostly uneventful. Hopefully, the keylogger won't change that. (btw, I did get rid of it)

To all who will eventually sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

If you are going to follow
    your dreams, make sure
    they aren't nightmares in
    disguise. How to tell?
    Dreams free you, give you
    wings...nightmares are a
    cage...and everyone knows
what a cage does to those
    who have wings. Or want
    them.

Wake up flying in the light!

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night. Eventually.

I hope you had a good day and the night will go well.

I do not like trying to be a morning person.

    Mornings suck.

And now the mosquitoes are out as well.

Everyone at work, one after the other, is coming
down with some type of virus. The flue, I guess.

One staff person's husband had to be hospitalized.

If I get sick, I will blame it on mornings.

It is the night that fills me up and restores me...
mornings just make me want to sleep.

    Gripe gripe gripe.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Listen to the quiet night
    before you lay your head
    down to sleep...you will
    hear your heart beat.

    Wake up in the morning
    with a stronger heart.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

    Long day.

    Slept through the alarm.

Naughty naughty. (But very nice to sleep in awhile, oh yes!)

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Move the alarm farther away,
but not so far that you don't
    hear it.

    Lay down, sleep.

    Wake up bright and early,
    and drink lots of coffee.

    May the Lady smile
    on you can me too.

    G'Night.

:yikes: Not me. Waaay paranoid about sleeping through the alarm. I'm usually awake 5 minutes before it goes off. Sucks at times, but I think it's worth it. A little paranoia is healthy.

BTW, glad you made it home through the storms too! GA beat me to it and I figured if you were able to post, and not mention anything bad personally happening to you, that you were OK! :p

    The Edge of the Water

I stand at the ocean's edge
    wet sand beneath my feet
the waves wash against my toes
I know the water is deep

    and yet and yet

    it calls to me
    it calls to me

the sun sinks out in the west
the wind plays with my hair
the wet sand shifts under me
I am not well grounded there

    and yet and yet

    it holds me fast
    it holds me fast

the singing voice in the wind
    tells me it offers more
and though deep will bear me
    safely to another shore

    and yet and yet

    I dare not move
    I dare not move

lapping at my toes the waves
    tease and beckon and probe
    wanting me calling me
but the water is so cold

    and yet and yet

    I want to go
    I want to go

I look back at the wet sand
    and find myself thigh deep
in the waves in the water
and the wet sand is so sweet

    and yet and yet

    it calls to me
    it calls to me

    I hesitate

but it may be too late

When I sleep at my normal times, I wake up right before the alarm too. But early morning is definitely not a normal time for me.

    And thank you. :)

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

Full moon tomorrow night. Or tonight, depending on where you
live. A moon in Libra. Perhaps that will mitigate some of its power.

No owl tonight. And no storm either.

My pardon for the large, bold type for the verse.

Worked on it, transferred it to google docs, worked on it at work, cut and paste to the forum and didn't realize it was going to be so large. Didn't mean to um be shouting.

I hope you had a good day and have a good night too.

No owl again tonight, but I saw a red Cardinal and his mate, hopping around on the roof at sundown at work. Think they were looking at the lichen/moss, what ever it is that hangs from all the oak trees and makes everything look spooky, that fell on the roof during the storm the other
    night.

Early, seems to me, for the Cardinals already to be mated. I guess
time flys...(weak attempt at a joke).

Full moon tonight. Am holding my own so far. Chaotic here at work.

I don't usually comment on this blog but that last poem was fantastic.
