I hope you had a good day and the nights goes well.

    The birds are back!

There was birdsong coming from every tree in the neighborhood. I saw Robins, Blue Jays, a Cardinal and maybe a young Mockingbird, plus the Sparrows and a red headed bird with a gray body...don't think it was a Woodpecker, because it was pecking on the ground, but maybe it was.

And the sound of my windchimes in the breeze! Lovely.

    The squirrels were out, too.

I didn't see any lizards, not yet.

I forget how restorative just sitting on my porch is.

Of course, there were the buzzards, scouring the skys, circling, soaring and swooping. But not directly overhead.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Music can do more at times
to empty the head of jangling
    racing thoughts than anything
else, so take care what type
of music you use to send yourself
    into sleep.

With the right type of music,
perhaps you will wake up singing.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

As much as I'm legally allowed to, I believe. I need to check the "husband" handbook. ;)

Ah, Wednesday. Date Night for me and J. Tonight was Date Night +1. N's with us all this week so he got a little bonus "out" time with us.

Unfortunately, dinner was meh. Not bad but not really good either. Just poor choices for the entrees all around.

Funny thing is, this is the second night of meh dinners. Last night's dinner did not turn out as I had wanted. Smelled great, especially the 5 Spice Powder infused pork, but seriously lacking in flavour upon service. All the flavours went away. Very sad. Very disappointing.

Now, it's time for N's shower then off to bed with him. Such an exciting life I lead. :poke:

I hope you had a good day and the night went well.

I sat outside this morning on the porch, watching
and listening to the birds. I think the Mockingbirds
are back too, although they aren't singing like they
usually do, so maybe I am seeing some other type
    of bird.

A dark and yet bright red Cardinal sat in a tree a
short distance away, waiting to see if I'd leave so
he could get to the feeder. Chiding me the entire
    time.

The birds I think might be the Mockingbirds spent
most of their time flying from tree to tree. If it
is them, they must be trying to establish territory,
so it is likely that the other birds will leave soon,
    driven off like last year.

It was chilly out, so I didn't stay long. And started
raining shortly after I came in. Still, it felt good to
    be out there.

I left the glass up on the screen door, and the front
door open when I came in, to air out the house some.
While I was refilling my coffee cup, I looked up and
there was a Siamese cat looking in. One of the brown
and cream cats, blue eyes, cross eyed. I think he
was under the house, because he had a cobweb
hanging across his forehead. Didn't seem to bother
him any. The cat was muscular, mature but not old,
and looked healthy. None of the delicacy of a female
    Siamese.

My cat, Willie, went over and they sniffed
noses through the screen. No growling, hissing or
fluffing up on either side, which surprised me. The
cat was muscular, mature but not old, and looked
healthy. None of the delicacy of a female Siamese.

Something lives under the house, but I don't think
it's the cat. He looked too healthy to be feral. And
    too friendly.

The moon is coming on full soon.

More to my day than that, of course, but it is late
and I don't feel well. The tree pollen is flying and
just being out for that short of a time, has me
    congested.

    So...

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Going to bed a little sooner
might mean that you will be
able to get up early enough
to take some time to hear
the birds sing in the morning.

A nice way to begin your day.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the will go well.

A little earlier than my usual. I'm either trying hard
to fend off something, probably the cold going around
where I work, or tree pollen allergies are kicking my butt.

Whichever, I do not feel well, and would love to curl
back up asleep in my blanket nest.

I did try to sit outside awhile today, around noonish, but
the wind was blowing hard and cut right through my 3
layers of clothing and jacket, so I didn't last long. All
I really accomplished was to scare off the Sparrows
    pecking away at the birdseed.

Soup is on the menu today, all day. If I feel well
enough tomorrow, I'm make Lo Mien. Can't eat
soup too many days in a row, unless I am deathly
ill. (Cross my fingers on that one.)

    The moon is almost full.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Stay warm, curl up like the
squirrels do, sink into a deep
    sleep.

    Wake up tomorrow with more
    energy.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

Feeling better today...still don't know what it is that
I've got, though. There's a norovirus going around,
but I don't think it's that, didn't affect my digestive
    track much, mostly my head.

It was much warmer today, and feels warmer tonight,
too. Or maybe it's just that the wind died down. At
any rate, the birds were having a hayday with the
birdseed. Still too cold for lizards. They are summer
creatures, I guess. Like Spring, Summer comes early
here, so it won't be long before they are out, too.

Unfortunately, Summer is our longest season. Good
for the lizards, I guess. Probably the birds, too. Bad
    for me.

    Full moon on Sunday!

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Floating into sleep is nice.
    And waking up after wards
    is nice too.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night!

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

Sometime tonight, the moon comes full.

I don't know why, but I have slept most of the day.
Up for an hour or 2, then right back to sleepy mode
and in bed asleep w/in minutes.

I don't mind it. I like sleeping and I like dreaming. And
I have enough free days that I don't feel like I am
    missing anything.

Cold today, and again tonight. This one will not be
outside tonight gazing at the moon. Nor was I out
    much today.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the bright earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Dream sweet and wild and free
safe and warm in your bed.

    Wake up to the light.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and night.

The moon is full, and evidently of importance to the Chinese
community, at least in my area. Lots of picture taking going
on. I am not sure why. It is considered, if I understood
correctly, a 'bigger' full moon than usual. I don't know if this
is because of the Chinese Lunar New Year or if it really is
somehow bigger than normal (closer to us for some reason?).
Something to find out, I guess.

    Very frustrating day today. Very.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the bright earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep warm and safe
    Wake up in the morning

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and night.

It was nice enough to sit outside this morning, the sky
clear and blue, warm enough to do without my arm warmers
    and fluffy socks.

The birds are beginning their courting rituals, though not
yet as busy at it as they will be once there is more food
available. I saw a young male Cardinal, red as that
color can get, an older female, a mature Blue Jay, a
young Mockingbird, some Sparrows clicking away at
me and eager to get to the bird feeder and a lone crow
who flew to the top of the tallest pine tree in the area,
calling his alert to any and all who wanted to listen.

In the trees, there were others, many of them, but
those are the ones that came near enough to tell
    what they were.

Pleasant music, their songs were, to go
    with my coffee.

And with the birds, came the cats. Making their
rounds, eyeing any bird that was careless enough
    to disregard their presence.

I have a couple of new neighbors, who cleared out
all of the woods growth save the tall oaks, so I
could actually see more than I could last Spring.

I think I am the only one in this little neighborhood
who kept the pines in place. My back yard, once
the cones are flush with seed, will be a squirrel
mecca. And they are beginning their rituals as well,
chasing each other from tree to tree, tails jerking,
circling the trunks as they climb and dart down again.

It was remarkably calm in the neighborhood this
morning, save for the birdsong all around, even the
    nearby traffic did not intrude.

    Ahh, I love Spring.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Keep Spring in your heart
    and all who bring Winter
    with them at bay...you
    will sleep better.

    And in the morning, when
    you wake up...you will be
    better.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and on me.

    G'Night.

I started my courting rituals for Spring with J, last weekend. Problem was I slipped on some ice and fell off the roof. Couldn't flap my wings soon enough to soften the landing.

The result...? A very unattractive mating song. And no mate.

I hope you had a good day and night.

I think the allergies are doing me in.
Someone told me when it rained this
morning, the rain water washing off
the street was yellow with pollen.

The Sparrows were feasting at the
bird feeder. At least 10 of them,
all crammed together on both sides.

At work tonight, I heard the owls
    hooting at each other.

I had call after call tonight at work.
Too many for someone whose head
    feels like a drum.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Lay flat on your back
    and imagine the drumbeat
in your head is a wave
    of seawater washing up
    on the beach, over the
    sand and back out.
    Repeat. Repeat until
    the waves wash you
    to sleep.

    Wake up in the morning
    with sand in your eyes.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

    Yep, 5 years come October.

My thread was more of a joke, referencing Scry's Spring and Bird report.

I hope you had a good day and night.

Cold out today, I stayed in to keep out of the pollen
and feel better as a result. But warmer tonight...it
feels warmer tonight than it did today.

The birdseed is dropping fast...busy little Sparrows. I
hope the other birds are getting some, too. Across
the way, the neighbor's bird bath is well used.

If it ever warms up long enough, I expect the territory
fights will start again, with the Mockingbirds the
victors as it went last Spring. You would think the
larger birds, the Jays and Cardinals would come out
winners, but they do not seem to have the social
network that the Mockingbirds do...the bird equivalent
of gangs, I guess. But I have never seen rival groups
of Mockingbirds, they all seem one big tribe.

The Sparrows flock up too, but they are way too little
to take on the Mockingbirds. I don't know where the
    crows go, or why.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep soundly, your heart
    and breathing in rhythm with
    the slow moving etherwaves
that float in and around your
    dreams.

    Wake up in the morning,
    grounded.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.
