Well, first (oh, not FIRST, but after the initial disease) people feel weak, their chest burns and pains from inside, they have difficulties breathing and very fast heart-beat rate. And then it turns out their heart was affected in some bad way. And sometimes it turns out too late. Or so I've heard. And this is all I know. And your doctor probably checked your heart already, did not he?
She, not he. Yes, they did an ekg. My heart is beating normally. I googled it. Seems a couple of weeks after the 'flu,' the heart is attacked by the virus and one of the ventricles enlarges. Among other things. The attack by the virus can lead to the immunosystem continuing to attack the affected parts of the heart. I think it's safe to assume that isn't happening. Hopefully. Thanks for the input.
I hope you had a good day and the night went well. The Dark Moon is nigh tonight. Our office has been having a run on spiders, big fat wood spiders I guess. I do not like them. Have killed 4 in the last 10 days and another staff person killed one as well. Everytime I kill one, I get jumpy for awhile. I play with Lexi with a sock on my hand. Of late, she has been a little banshee, going at my socked hand much faster. Last night, after she managed to get it off my hand, she hung onto it, biting away at it. Normally, she loses interest if the sock doesn't move. I think Alex's fighting lessons are having an effect. Even though Alex is much older and slower than Lexi (speed is really her greatest asset right now), he is still more skilled and stronger, so he wins most of the time. Lexi goes for his neck, either under his chin or the back of his head, and Alex just flips her over and goes for her belly. But she is learning. Had law enforcement at work last night so, as you might expect, was a rather tense time for awhile. Tonight, the worst so far was a fat spider. Edit: I forgot to mention that we had a hard rain, lots of thunder and lightning and some tornado warnings the other evening. The rain knocked all the blossoms off my Dogwood tree. I was sad to get up the next day and see the petals scattered all over my lawn. In a couple of areas, the hail was as big as ping pong balls, but not where I live. May the Lady smile on you and me too.
Nearby, if one looked closely, there is a large opening between the roots of a huge old oak stump. The opening appears to lead downwards into the ground, and is lined with a shiny sticky substance. If one inhales the air near the hollow, a fetid odor bites the back of one's throat... (Next? Shall we write a communal tale here? Who wants to post next?)
I hope you had a good day and the night also went well. I may be going to jail. I just refused to open the gate and allow law enforcement to serve a judge's order as per our policy/procedures. They took my name and birthdate. Our Executive Director talked to them too and confirmed that I could not open the gate. She says if anyone goes to jail, it will most likely be her, but that's entirely up to the judge, I think. So we'll see. Jail is not the most comfortable place to be, so I hope neither of us is arrested. I have already notified someone so Lexi and Alex are fed and watered. I was a bit rattled, but stood my ground. Legally, this is a rather grey area that no one wants clarified. It has been danced around for some years now. People have gone to jail for contempt I believe rather than contest the issue. I don't know how long a judge can keep you in jail for contempt, and really don't want to find out. However, that's one of the reasons I was hired to sit in this chair. And I knew that when I signed on. Let's hope the judge doesn't have a bad day when he is informed that I refused to open the gate. May the Lady smile on you and me too.
I hope you don't go to jail either. It's boring, the facilities are unclean, the food is awful and the staff is rude. I hate to say it, but many judges are politicians rather than meticulous interpreters of the law and dispensers of justice.
Bravo for standing your ground. Presumably the police needed a search warrant. Hopefully your employers have good lawyers. Good luck in any case hope it works out.
You boss is probably correct in her statement that she'd be the one going to jail. However, whether it's you or her, your employer would owe a legal defense to their employees at no cost (usually). As for the possible contempt charge, a judge can hold you as long as he/she wants until you comply with their orders, apologize, etc. You may want to have your own personal legal counsel waiting in the wings, just as a safeguard. Good Luck! (and keep us posted!)
Well I am not in jail. Yay! I was told that the sheriff and our executive director have worked things out and hopefully that particular law enforcement agency will not try to bully us again. I do not have a personal attorney; I am not in that type of income bracket. If our agency does, I am unaware of it. Nonetheless, I am not going to be breaking any driving laws for awhile. Including parking lot arrows.
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well. It's the full moon tonight! May the Lady smile on you and me too.
