A commonly used law enforcement model (no, I don't remember the name of the model) of batterer types indicates that there are 2 different types of batterers, the first type being a more or less 'normal' batterer (if 'normal' is even a correct concept) and the second type being a psychopathic batterer. (This paragraph, btw, is my attempt to paraphrase that model and may not be accurate. )

I do not work with the partners.

As I understand it, no. Both types lack empathy, and both can function well in certain group structures. It is difficult to say what the difference is because the standard(s) keep changing. Imo, the main difference is one of degree. However, even that gets complicated, as there are psychopaths that are quite functional and successful. The callousness, lack of empathy, drive to control, and ruthlessness to succeed at whatever the goal may be can lend itself well to success in some endeavors that are highly rewarded by our society. Apparently criminality is not always a psychopathic trait or behavior.

    Google it.

And Emirkol, psychopaths can mirror any emotion. Their own true feelings are very shallow, except for maybe anger and/or anxiety, and they may feel no anxiety at all. Their anger can be deeply buried. Probably one of their strongest 'talents' is the ability to cause emotion in others. (I am not saying that well. They gravitate to those who are caring individuals and manipulate their victim's emotions and thus behavior.) They can be, and usually are, very charming.

I hope you had a good day and this dark night went well.

So far, so good for me. (Knock on wood.)

It is the night of the dark moon. And we have been having unseasonable cold weather at night. Last night it was 43 F degrees. I refuse to turn on the heat this early. So I slept with 3 blankets. And that was during the day.

I am tempted to start doing this in the morning after I get off work. When I get to where I am not so wiped out when I get home, I just might do that. Maybe the drive home will inspire me.

Right now, there is not much that inspires me. I am too involved in transitioning to night time living.

Yahoo has a picture series on midnight shoppers. I am going to look at it and hope I can keep a sense of humor.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the dark earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Sleep warm even if you have
to pile on the blankets (and
    a warm cat).

    Wake up sweaty.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night.

As far as I can tell from my experience with people (and I have relatively large experience due to the nature of my work and contrary to my young age) words do not mean anything to most people, and words are only a tool for most people to get what they want. So, I do not think described strategy should be applied to suspected psychopaths only, but to all people, unless they specifically deserve being trusted.

Sounds, or, rather, reads, suspiciously like me! :twitch:
I mean, I can be SO charming!

A much better explanation, IMO. At least I got part of it right. ;)

It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.

Mister... my family will pay cash. Whatever ransom you're askin' for, they'll pay it.

It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

Yes, it will, Precious, won't it? It will get the hose!

I hope you had a good day and the night went well.

So much for looking at the pics of midnight shoppers...apparently they were part of an article on foodstamp recipients waiting until their foodstamp cards filled up again at the stroke of midnight on the beginning (or end, depending on how you look at it) of the month.

Wasn't much to laugh at, there.

I heard the owl hoot as I was going out to my car at work to drive home. It was already fairly bright out, but still early enough for owls, I guess.

Alex, my cat (Willie's brother) saw his reflection in the tv screen (the tv was off) and stared at it for a long time. His ears were perked up. I think he might have thought it was Willie. Afterwards he came over to me and meowed, which is unusual. Alex hardly ever meows.

To all who sleep (or slept) tonight on this side of the still dark earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep.
    Wake.
    Work.
    Repeat.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night (or Morning...take your choice)

I hope you slept soundly and the day goes well.

Seems very strange to be doing it this way...and if I don't like it that much, it's be back to the 'old' way.

Yesterday, I went outside when the sun was coming up and the early dawn rays turned the Spanish Moss on the live oaks red. It made the side of the portable building so bright that at first I thought it was on fire. Something to be said for the dawn...guess it can be just as beautiful as a sunset.

Thought I might see the doe and her 2 fawns this morning, but they must have been in another part of the woods.

    No sound from the owl(s).

To all who slept last night on this side of the earth,

    The Morning Wake-Up:

    Step out of your dreams
    and shake off your slumber.

    It's a new day...smile awhile.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Morning.

I hope you had a good night and the day goes well.

My neighbor in back of me is having the big live oaks trimmed. I hope that's what she is doing, I hope she isn't cutting them down. I don't know why she'd have them trimmed. If a hurricane happens to come this way, trimming the trees aren't going to do much good.

Maybe she just doesn't like shade. Maybe her insurance company required her to cut the limbs off.

Whatever, there are now no limbs overhanging her property at all. I guess it's her property but it looks ugly to me.

To all who slept last night on this side of the earth,

    The Morning Wake-Up:

    Sound sleep...
    More energy when
    you're awake.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Morning.

I hope you slept soundly last night and the day goes well.

I am really missing my cat Willie this morning.

I spent a good part of the morning talking to someone who is semi-suicidal and all the while I am thinking of Willy and really felt after awhile like just blasting into that person with what death really means. Somehow, I managed to focus on the positive, which was good.

Why is it when you are feeling really down, that there is no one around for you?

I am whining...I can hear it...and feeling sorry for myself. Which won't change anything.

Sighs. I detest whiners. They say that what you really dislike in others are qualities that are strongest in yourself. So there you go. Sighs again.

    On to other things.

I am going to get a kitten. A half Siamese, black, female kitten, the smallest one I can find. And Alex had better adopt it and not try to kill it. It stands a chance with it being a female, I think.

And now for a name. Anyone out there good with names?

To all who slept last night on this side of the earth,

    The Morning Trumpet:

    Hope your dreams last
    night were sweet, and
    the morning came
    bright and clear.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

(Maybe I will name her Lady.)

    G'Morning.

Maybe because one feels really down due to the fact there is no one for that first one?..

Good name for a cat is Kitty, right?
