Saving tons of money is only one of the factors. Never was enough by itself.

Thanks for the luck wish. Will need it.

Will use my Queenly Prerogative and take out my irritability on whomever I wish. Behaving yourself is your best plan. Covers up a huge yawn with her fan.

I hope you had a good day and the night is going well.

Coming up on a full moon soon.

Speaking of dreams, we ought to have a weird dream thread. That ought to be good for some laughs.

I had one last night, or this morning, have totally lost track of what time of day or night it is.

I dreamed I had a truck with 2 flatbed trailers, a big truck, like a long semi. It had stacks of cages on both flatbeds, full of puppies, kittens, chickens, ducks, etc. Top rack had teeny tiny ex fantasy bfs, many of him. The problem was that the cages had no sides. So I was trying to use a roll of hogwire, duct taped size and sticky like tape to wrap all these cage sides, all the while the um animals and ex fantasy bfs kept popping out all over. So I was running around the truck and trailers, unrolling hogwire tape with one hand and scooping up critters of all sorts with the other hand and tossing them back in the cages.

Strange what our minds tell us in dreams, no?

    Must be the sleeping pills.

And I am still smoking. Less...probably because I am sleeping so much.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep. And no more
    idiotic dreams, please
    dear Lady.

    Wake up and don't smoke.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the night went well.

Had a moderate crisis at work tonight. Was a good experience for me. I could do with keeping a little straighter face though. I get these wacky images in my head at the worst times. It would be fine if I got them after the crisis rather than right in the middle of one. Something to work on I guess. If it's possible.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Take a deep breath, sigh,
sink into the pillows and sleep.

    Wake up and stretch...it's
    another day...

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night.

Nice out tonight. Nice drive home. Had the radio on playing country and western music and they were playing classic crossover songs. Anymore, imo, it is difficult to tell some country and western music from rock n' roll. When did that start happening I wonder?

    Some nice songs. Truckin' music.

To all who will (or are already) sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep deep and sweet.
    Wake up laughing.
    Smile for awhile.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

I hope you had a good day and the night went well.

My calendar says the full moon comes nigh Wednesday.

Last night I pulled into my driveway, shut off the car, opened the door, stuck my foot out and froze, foot in the air, when something growled at me. I decided that whatever it was, it was smaller than I was, so planted my foot on the concrete and got out. Whatever it was rustled off in the bushes.

Nonetheless, my heart pitty-patted all the way into the house.

    I am unfortunately still smoking.

If anyone else works graveyard, I'd appreciate knowing when is the best time to sleep...before work or after. My natural tendency is to sleep in the morning, but I am not sure that will work well.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep. Restore.
    Wake. Drink coffee.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night.

I vote to sleep after work. At least that's the way I've always done it when I'm working nights. If you get off early enough, it's a very satisfying sensation to get in and go to sleep before all the day-time hustle and bustle really starts, and then get up in the early afternoon and not have to feel like you really missed much. If I get in too late though, I usually stay up for a while.

Day shift: work (day), you time (evening), sleep (night) [normal person]
Night shift: sleep (day), you time (evening), work (night) [weird person, but still functioning]
Afternoon shift: sleep/you time (day), work (evening), you time/sleep (night) [non-functioning semi-weird person ... splitting you time and sleep time over two different time periods means you get nothing done and do a lot of sitting around, waiting to go to work and waiting to go to bed]

Get home in morning, do chores, sleep, mess with your friends that have human being jobs, go to work. Repeat. ;)

Hope it works out for you in any good way.

I just couldn't get my sleep schedule down whatsoever when I did night crew for a Summer.

Not good going on almost zero sleep for weeks on end, supported only by sugar and caffeine. There were times when I couldn't decide whether to walk or run home I was so wired.

Thankfully that was 20 years ago and I never had to do anything like that again.

I hope you had a good day the night goes well.

Thank you all for your input.

I think Gaear has it right. (And you GA82.) Evening shift I have been splitting my sleep into 2 different periods and I don't like it much. Nothing gets done.

I just tried sleeping this afternoon until around 8ish, and it didn't feel right. I guess because my normal tendency is to sleep mornings, so that's what I'm going to stick with.

This will result in some other things that I think just might be good for me as well.

The hours are from 10 to 8, but only 3 nights a week, and if I stick with the same sleep schedule the whole time I should still have a life.

Maybe I'll actually get to hear the birds sing again.

To all who will sleep on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep. Smile while you are.
    Wake up. Smile more.
    Life just might be changing.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

I hate not getting enough sleep, but I have always enjoyed sunrise and early morning. Among other things, you meet the most interesting people on the beach.

I hope you had a good day and the night went well.

    Full moon tomorrow.

In some respects, graveyard is busier than swing. But all the commotion stops around 11:30, then it gets very quiet.

So here I am, not smoking. Sooner or later, I will quit for good.

Very different driving to work at night. I tend to drive faster. It will be interesting to see how driving home in the daytime goes. I hope I brought my sunglasses.

    Wake up in the late
    afternoon...

you should really quit smoking. more than half of the people who are cancer have it in their lungs. and much more than half of the lung cancer victims are heavy smokers

I hope you had a good day and the n ight went well.

    Driving home was...interesting.

The last half hour at work and the entire drive home was um on autopilot. I am glad I knew the road so well. It looks different ,going in the opposite direction when it is light., but it's still the same road.

I think it will take some time for my system and my mental reference points to switch from up almost all night to always up all night.

Today I could have gotten more sleep, too. So I imagine the drive home will be more autopilot. At least there is no traffic to speak of on my side of the road. Most of it is going the oppositie way.

It is difficult too, to know how to speak about common everyday things. Is it still 'this morning' when you are going home to sleep? When is it breakfast and when is it dinner? Is it still 'good night' when you are staying up all night?

Full moon. Phones didn't ring once.

To all who sleep tonight (when it is almost morning) on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Things will sort themselves out
    eventually. Sleep when you are
sleepy and don't worry about it.

Wake up and start your day when
    ever it starts.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night.
