Well, I got my ToEE on 2004 (i think)... Stopped playing for a while and now I'm playing again with your patches... count me in, just hope Atari stops being so dumb with ToEE players n modders..

 

So, where is this petition?

 

The developers of the Witcher are going to release a modding toolset, so maybe there is something useable in it for ToEE. Might be worth checking out?

 

But The Witcher is based on Aurora... so how could it
be of any use in ToEE?

 

Damn. You got my hopes up for a split second before I read the next post. I am not familiar with the witcher.

 

Though I did enjoy the first NWN, not enough to try NWN 2. I don't really feel NWN and ToEE are comparable, ToEE gives you the ability to play and control an entire party, up to 8 with Co8's mods. NWN You really only control your own toon, the rest are NPC's with limited control, and .. i could go on ^_^ I like both games, but ToEE is much more fun IMO. That said, Atari hasn't done anything to catch my notice, SINCE ToEE, and truly I can't see giving Atari credit. Troika did the work, Atari payed for it, and made out like bandits in the end. Same they do with every game, seems to me. They produce, set inane limits, end up screwing up content and then foist it off on the gaming community, and continue to make cash. I would not miss Atari one bit :dance: As far as that goes, for some reason I thought Atari was owned by Hasbro? If so.... well, don't matter how ya feel, you're not toppling that :yeaaa:

Rambled a bit there above, but yea, I support your petition. From what I've read in the thread here, the tools for the most part would be not so usefull, though some obviously would. If there's anything that needs doing beyond posting here in agreement, and voting on your poll above, lemme know.

 

Totally agree. There are countless reasons that they should release them.

 

I heard that infogrames wanted to buy atari, would that make it easier to obtain the sourcecode?

 

It would be great to be able to use the official toolset. It would be even greater to have a copy of the source code with it, but we can't be too picky. I think we will be extreemely lucky if they ever release the official tools.

 

I've just signed in and obviously I'm in favour of any action that allows for the improvement of what started to be a rather buggy game.

I bought ToEE several years ago, started playing it and quit after awhile.

Only recently have I found Co8 and I must say it really is a gigantic improvement of the original.

Although I have doubts that ATARI will give the thumbs up on this request, I do believe that they must be made aware of fan's opinions.

Most of the guys I play PnP RPG's with also play PC RPG's so I can offer some lobbiing support, howevwe little it may be.
