    EDIT: Right, I'm uploading a stable full version now (1.4gb), I'll post a link once it's uploaded. It's still not complete by any means, but the save corruption doesn't appear to be present in this build, I'll file compare this version with my previous full version and filter out all the unchanged files to build a "Ted friendly" patch version after I've had a few hours sleep... (I've been up all day yesterday since about 5am, worked my night shift propped up with regular caffeine hits and now at 11am the following day, still not had more than half an hour's nap on the sofa.)

    I've downloaded the new version and reactivated.

    I still get random crashing during the initial start up of the game, but typically on the second or third attempt then the game loads up.

    I can start a new game and get into the initial shop to prepare my team members.

    This is further than I've gotten before, so this is a good sign.

    Since the saved games aren't working, I'll need to play tonight or tomorrow night when I have a bigger block of free time and go through it in one sitting.

    Your saves still aren't working? that's odd, they work for me.

    EDIT: I take that back, it is still broken damnit... I will try to get to the bottom of this crash issue when I don't have to rush off to work. :(

    I have now removed the new broken version, re-enabled the older - stable version and added a Patch 1 addon to the other thread with details on how to activate it. Fingers crossed, that there is no more save corruption. :D

    Hey Al,

    A quick bit of feedback on the Orc Caves. I've only gotten halfway through, got wiped out once in the middle chamber and the second time completed the middle chamber but had to regroup.

    - Orc placement excellent, the way each new bunch was drawn into combat was really good until you have to charge onto the killing floor and risk pulling even more in.
    - Shaman just attacked, didn't cast
    - They should charge, too many melee types just ran up
    - There should be at least some chance the archers ready versus spells, to see so many archers and none were worried about my spellcasters didn't seem right. I'd say 5% per spellcaster in party, per archer, per round, at a guess.

    Otherwise great fun :)

    Thanks, to be fair I hadn't tested the content when I posted, just the save corruption, it'll get some more tweaking before its ready.

    I am able to save games successfully, and they are loading successfully, too.

    I went through most everything, but the cave is now completely empty. The outside has the three wolves, and the shadowy orc outside runs away again, but inside the cave is devoid of life.

    Did you extract the patch to the root folder AND activate the patch as an addon in TFE-X? Ted ran through the content before you (see his post earlier in the thread) and it was populated with Orcs - though the AI needs tweaking.

    Hey Al,

    Couple more minor things -

    - I decided to move on without clearing the rest of the Orc Cave to see how the rest of it plays out, but when I went to Hrothgar to tell him I found the caravan looted, I didn't get that option - global_vars[3] was still 0. Note that I killed the Orc outside the cave pretty quick, if he triggers it. This was previously working as you know, dunno what happened there.
    - The supplies list for Pomab, if read, asks Smigmal Redhand to kill Lareth ;) Look up 'TAG_ASSASSIN_NOTE' in help.tab to change that. I recommend the following list of supplies

    • Rope
    • Cram
    • Scrimshaw polish
    • 'Lady Dwarf' scouring stone for Hildreth
    • 10 x broadswords
    • 10 x ringmail
    • 10 x Bohemian Earspoons
    • Squirrel repellent

    Lol sure, I'll get to fixing everything tomorrow, I'm just glad at least some of it is working as intended with no crashes on saved games. I still haven't tested the content, my girlfriend had a 'broken day' today and needed my support.

    Did the Elite Goblin on Eaathaven use his heartbeat script to spawn either a masterwork longsword, masterwork bartleaxe, or Fang - magic bastard sword by any chance?

    Also the Ogre in the Orc Cave has the Courier Contract Gaspar needs, reasing that should set vars[3] = 2 for Hrothgar's good quest ending.

    Yes, I extracted the patch, it was a folder called Addons and I copied that folder to the ToEE folder. Per the instructions I then deleted the contents of the maps folder, and then in TFE-X I clicked on the Add-ons button. It had a dropdown list with only Patch1 in the list. It rebuilt it all, and I saw during that process that the patch was being applied, and at some point during that process it added all the maps back into the maps folder.

    Didn't notice if the goblin had an interesting weapon, but there was a bastard sword in there. I'll check Pomab and see what I sold him.

    I replaced a dead PC with Bertram (didn't want an overpowered NPC) and my 4 2nd level PCs and 1st lvl Bertram headed to Kuldahar Pass. On arrival I sneakily used the world map to go to the other end of the pass, whereat I was in the midst of battle with many goblins. My PCs rolled rubbish - more 4s than Bradman - and we died in short order. The speaking goblin ran down and entered combat against the others when a retreating PC put him on the radar, I get you gave him a different faction to prevent him getting pulled in but he seemed to have a KOS flag of some sort.
