" It took me a long time to figure out that a character can attack a target that is a yellow distance way (when you hold down the Alt key while the mouse pointer is over the target) if you select the Charge Attack option from the radial menu (but only so long as you can move there in a straight line)."

I never knew this! Until Just Now...

I've worked out a quick way to get around VB. Let's say you are at your castle and you want to get to the bazaar of the bizarre, go to the world map and select the Passage to Verbobonc. This will deposit you at the start location in VB. Then just use the signpost there to go to the place you would like to go to.

mmonagle, re. the signpost, I hope you realize the same applies for Hommlet and Nulb? That was, in fact, the whole idea...

Sorry that you might have that reaction, but that process is one I use a lot to save on all that foot logging you otherwise have to do to finish various guests or want to unload your loot for the best prices. Thanks from me at least for sharing mmonagle.

    Apologies about that.

But I am genuinely curious - did you miss the signposts in Hommlet and Nulb or their intended function (namely, teleport shortcuts)?

If not, what caused you to disregard them?

Unless you read something in the forum, the way only to discover their use is by clicking on them. Remember, they did not work in the previous version.

On the other hand, you can all just :censored::lalala::pelvicthr  :poop: :punch: :coffee: :chairshot :finger: yourselves silly(er).

I just had to say that. Thanks! ;)

I've used the signposts at the other locations but more as just a quick short-cut. Nulb is not that big that once I use it after my initial entry, I don't go back. And after I have done the quests in Hommlet, I usually don't run around there much except to sell equipment. For that, I just start at the leatherworker (who I don't really need to jump to) and walk up the road to sell to the smith, clothes guy, jeweler, and shield maker. VB is just so big that I jump around more using the sign. The path from the castle to the place to sell your weapons is longer than other places.

Honestly though, the point to this thread is to reveal things that you didn't know before or to share things with other players that they might not have realized. I have read some things here that I thought - 'I knew that' - but I realize that others didn't and it will benefit their game to know. I thought the trick with signposts might be one of those things. Maybe it was obvious to some but not to everyone.

Well this something I kinda knew about before, but it really hit me over the head and gave me some chuckles smiles.

I just finishes the Moathouse and my ranger's jackal had been pinpricked by bolts from the guards outside Lareth's room. Got down to -7 before he stabilized. Survived the battle with Zert and Gang as well. As I go back to Hommlet and start to sell off my loot, I keep seeing this comatose body following me about from shop to shop. I know I can either heal him or dismiss and get a new one, which I will, but was not worth the time till I finished.

    I admit I have a warped mind folks. :)

Another new thing for me was when I was fighting the Behemoth Kingfrog and Jedi the Jackal was grappled by the frog's tongue. Jedi let out a whining whimper that just kept going on through the battle. Even during others attacks.

A new thing I just realized but I am sure is not new to others is that when you have a character enlarged, you can wield a two handed weapons in each hand. Of course at HUGE penalties, but still the image of my Half Orc pain dealer with two glaives in each hand in the AOH was amusing.

Another thing that I am sure is not new to others but which I had not used before. When my pain dealing half orc with his glaive was using total defense against a mob in HB, his combat reflexes was still working and he was taking out foes with his AOO.

Maybe I should start a new thread with my new discoveries, but I will wait for now. Just fought the Minotaur in HB and wanted to try a new tactic. I am doing that a lot in this play through of the game. My Half Orc glaive wielder was trying to trip the Bullheaded Beast and was tripped himself. By trying the 5 foot step I was able to avoid an AOO when he stood up.
