How do you use an Ioun stone?

    Without actually doing anything sensible (like clicking on the link Lord_Spike provided) I seem to vaguely recall the only person who actually objected to the Thieves' Tools slot equip was Livonya, on the grounds that she actually DID play rogue-bards. (A popular plan was to move Theives' Tools to the bardic instrument slot, since, theory was, you either used Thieves tools or an instrument, never both, and certainly never both simultaneously unless, as I suggested, the bard was humming to himself for a circumstance bonus while picking locks). I guess we could revisit the idea... BUT, I gotta say, as someone who used the modified version for a fair while, it never actually worked for me - Thieves' Tools would sit in that slot happily, but you took -2 for not having any equipped (or I did, anyway).

    OK, Don't be specific,just a hint or two.

    Where in the game would one stumble upon an Ioun stone?

    Or are they created objects ?

    Sorry. Craft Wonderous Item is the only way to get them in the game.

    I don't think that is true. I say that because I have one and I didn't craft it. I just don't remember where I found or bought it.

    I've been through the game quite a few times, and never found an Ioun stone until I started crafting them just last month...

    I just checked and yes I found one. It gave +1 to some type of save

    Hmmm... roughly where in the game are you Snook? I don't remember there being any in there, but I may have added one myself in a bizarro moment.

    I have done the following

    Hommlet and all the quest areas associated
    Nulb and all the quest areas associated
    Moathouse- original
    Temple level 1
    Verbobonc aka the Big V

    The more I think about it, I think I bought it in the Big V in a house that the comment was that there were a lot of scrolls. The person didn't have any scrolls for sale though. My memory may be wrong though so don't put much weight to it.

    I thought perhap I put one in, it has been a while since I completed the Verbo-mod, I think I did give Ariel the dusty rose Ioun Stone (because it looks like the gem found in the Tutorial that she kills the tutorial PC for ;)) but she shouldn't be trying to sell it under any circumstances.

    Perhaps her container has become broken somehow? Which patch are you running? 5.0.3?I'll have to investigate this as you shouldn't be getting access to that item (unless you killed her) :p.
